Short Summary
Dylan enjoys a cup of "JOE" while watching his brother Ice Skate
Supportcp.org and this funding campaign were specifically designed to bring awareness to my son’s physical condition. Diagnosed at birth with Cerebral Palsy, Dylan spends each and every day motivated to reach his DREAM of walking and living a “Life Without Limits”. The hope is that we can reach our goal of $25,000 and provide a year’s worth of specialized assistance with physical and occupational therapy that isn’t covered by insurance.

As a parent I continue to push and encourage Dylan every day to live with confidence, pride and determination, not allowing Cerebral Palsy to affect his quality of life. My constant reminders to him are to never quit, never give up and stay strong!  I tell him that he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to; he can grow up and be whoever he wants to be. The words "I can't" are not allowed to be spoken.

Dylan gets ready for his Grand Prix raceYour contribution is the backbone of fulfilling Dylan’s dream of walking and improving his day-to-day activities. The importance of this campaign is beyond words. Reaching his ultimate goal of walking (unassisted) would be a colossal achievement for Dylan and a step in the right direction for continued growth.

What is CP?
Cerebral Palsy is a group of chronic conditions affecting body movement and muscle coordination. It is caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain, usually occurring during fetal development; before, during, or shortly after birth; or during infancy. Thus, these disorders are not caused by problems in the muscles or nerves. Instead, faulty development or damage to motor areas in the brain disrupt the brain's ability to adequately control movement and posture. It also contributes to muscle weakness and poor control.

Dylan enjoys his day at the Pine Wood DerbyCerebral palsy itself is not progressive (i.e. brain damage does not get worse); however, secondary conditions, such as muscle spasticity, can develop which may get better over time, get worse, or remain the same. Although cerebral palsy is not "curable" in the accepted sense, training and therapy can help improve function.

What We Need
Our goal is to raise $25,000.00 (in 60 days) to fund a full calendar year of occupational and physical therapy sessions. Due to our nation’s current insurance restrictions and the inadequate programs offered by employers, Dylan DOES NOT receive the appropriate therapy necessary to improve and regulate his growth and fine motor skill development.

The financial effects of Cerebral Palsy on a family can be very difficult to overcome, as well as the pressures and frustration that come with it.

What You Get
By donating, you will have the opportunity to track Dylan’s progress via monthly progress reports, media galleries of his therapy sessions and detailed payment reports to the various organizations providing his occupational and physical therapy. You can feel confident that EVERY dollar donated will be used for direct services! Also, be sure to take advantage of our SUPPORTCP.ORG PERKS!  Limited availability!

If you require additional information about SupportCP or just want to follow along with Dylan’s adventures, please visit us at www.supportcp.org.

Other Ways You Can Help
We understand that money can be tight and not everyone can help. If you can't donate but want to help, please pass this link along to your friends via email or share it via your social networks;

Sharing with your networks will provide us an opportunity to share Dylan’s DREAM and improve awareness of the needs of a successful campaign. Thank you so much for anything you can do to help.

How Funds Will be Managed
Every dollar raised through this campaign will be used to help Dylan reach his goal of walking. This includes all therapist costs, therapy sessions and additional assistance that may be required to help him realize his DREAM.  Even though Dylan can walk and maneuver with his walker, it’s his desire to walk side by side with his twin brother that motivates his vision of a “Life Without Limits”.

Thank You
Every effort is made to push Dylan in reaching his potential, with a constant focus on “Life Without Limits”. Because of people like you and the numerous charities and organizations that work tirelessly around the clock to enrich the lives of others, no parent or child that deals with Cerebral Palsy can ever say THANK YOU enough!
