How we created the A2

Testing

The product is extensively tested by certified testing labs to ensure that it complies with the necessary conformity regulations. 


Timeline & Funding

Its is a long journey from idea to final product and it takes a lot of hard work and a serious investment. Costs for development, prototyping, moulds and the necessary production tools are high. If we do not reach our projected goal of $29K we will not be able to get the LIFEPOWER A² into your hands.



The Risks & Challenges

One potential challenge is that the final development stages as well as setting up the production line could take much longer than expected. We've intentionally set a generous timeline for these stages of the process based on where we currently stand. We hope we'll finish sooner, but we want to allow plenty of time in case it's needed.
Through all of this, we'll communicate often and clearly with our backers on where we are in the process. We'll also be here to answer any questions you have about the product and about how things are going.

Are there any restrictions for carrying the A² on an airplane?

No. You can take the A² with you without any problem as either checked luggage or carry-on baggage.
Below 100 Wh there are no restrictions for built-in li-ion batteries. The LifePower A² features a capacity of 94,7Wh.

We’ve also included the exact referred IATA and FAA regulations in the User Guide to avoid any possible hold up by airline officials.

How do I recharge the A2?

Each A2 includes a dedicated charger and if you wish to charge with solar power you can hook up the SUN2 solarpack!
A micro USB charge input is also available for compatibility with a wide range of mobile charging devices.

How long does it take to recharge the A2?

A full charge requires 3 hours with the supplied charger, however an 80% state of charge can be achieved in only 2 hours.
This also counts for the SUN2 solarpack, in optimal weather conditions.

Take notice that charging the A2 with a microUSB charger might take up to 20h.

What about safety?

The device is compliant to CE (LVD and EMC) and FCC regulations regarding safety. If you would plug in a device that demands too much current or in case of a short circuit, the overload safety will switch on automatically to protect you and the device.

Are your products weatherproof?

It is not advised to expose our products to water, dust or direct sunlight. Besides -ofcourse- the SUN2 solarpack which is splashwater AND sunproof ;)

What’s inside the A2’s box?

Besides the A2 itself, you will also find:

• The dedicated charger (in some regions incl. replaceable plug)
• The Universal adapter (supplied only with the EU/Global model)

Yes, the LifePower A2 can charge any type of laptop.

However, it only supports a power rating up to 120W (this can be found on the backside/label of your adapter)
Some high performance/gaming devices draw more power and can thus only be charged in ‘power saving’ mode or when shut down.

Can I power my product X [Amplifier/Lamp/Charger/TV/...] ?

This will depend on a few factors, such as power consumption.

Most devices that draw less then 120W or 120VA will work correctly. (This can be found on the specifications label)
Please do note that some devices will need a pure sine wave and that the A2's output waveform is a modified sine wave (PWM) designed to emulate a pure sinewave.
