What is the LongRunner?
The LongRunner is a custom-developed eSkateboard that is based upon a smart selection of standard and low-priced but perfectly working and high quality components. Numerous Asian eSkateboards look alike from the outside, but controllers, batteries, motors used often differ a lot! And many of these similar-looking "drive trains" we tested did not work smoothly at all! Not because they were all bad, but mainly because they had a few wrong parts, they were not configured correctly or simply not used to their full potential! Therefore, we developed the LongRunner!
LongRunner was initially developed with the help of Kickstarter crowdfunding, to provide a flawlessly working and super-performing eSkateboard at a budget price. LongRunner's circuitry enables you to use your custom batteries at two different voltages: 29 and 42V for super (dangerous!) high speed!
The first batch is already in production at our Asian factory, thanks to the help of KS community.

What is the RangePak?
The RangePak is a smart composition of high quality, meticulously (UN 38.3-) tested cells in a 7S2P high energy density battery, enclosed in a protective housing, a fabric-bag, and connected to a neat, safe, well-tested and high current-capable spiral cable that can be attached, upon demand, to your eBoard's smart ExTender Hub (basically a plug on the board). The RangePak can go to your preferred belt, backpack, pocket, but even directly onto the board, simply wherever you like and adapted to your skills!
We had many discussions, and mainly People who never tried criticised the cable, but after they tried, everybody was conviced: With the eSkateboard, once you have a little practice, the use of the cable is totally fine and imposes no significantly increased risks to the rider. Instead, it enables you to get as many RangePaks as you wish and riiiiiiiiiiiiddeeeee the whole day long!
- Enables longer lasting high speeds & longer range (3X)

UPDATE: CURRENT PRODUCTION STATUS
![]()
The production of the Longrunner has started - 100 units per day are being assembled right now and shipped to our warehouses.
Our very first contacts with skateboards lie far back, and at that time nobody ever thought about an "electrification"... When we first got into contact with electrical skateboards and got to try it, there was this "wow-feeling", this truly amazing feeling that may remind a surfer of riding a wave with ease, yet in complete silence. The next thing we did was ask for the price, and when we realized that this beautiful toy was offered at several hundred of dollars we were really disappointed and suddenly realized that this was probably the main reason, that there are still only so few of these boards out there.
Didn't we just see these Segway-like "hover boards" for a mere 200 dollars flooding the markets? These hover boards are electronic gadgets that seem far more complicated than a simple skateboard. We started to think about how to create such a nice toy at a decent price. Such amazing toy should be available and affordable for everybody. A good electrical speed controller (ESC) and decent hub motors as well as standard skateboard components may be required, and these components may not necessarily cost 500 dollars... at this time, our idea was born: We have to create an affordable eSkateboard, affordable for everyone!

After careful testing of different variants of cost-effective motors and controllers we realized that the "ready to use" products that were offered had significant flaws and in some cases even unbearable safety issues. Several aspects were very important for us and simply no issue to the trade-off between performance and price: Motor ratings, ESC programming and solid battery-pack assembly...
![]()
Finding the right batteries is a real challenge: Cheap high-capacity batteries are often overrated, the specs are wrongly declared, in fact they might work at low-currents but definitely not in a high-current application such as a skateboard or hover board. High-quality Samsung, LG, Panasonic or Sony-cells are mostly available as either high capacity or high C-rating, with both high Capa + high-C-rated cells being truly expensive. We therefore aimed at a compromise, using a standard, rather low-capacity but well-assembled battery pack for our basic version. We had a look at every single cell, looked at discharge- and charge characteristics and compared temperatures of the cells to high performance batteries from Samsung (29E and 35E). Since charging of any li-cell, regardless of being a high-quality or a low-quality cell, requires strict limits, we decided that our on board battery must be equipped with a battery management system that provides a single cell surveillance function, realizing overcharge and over-discharge protection at the level of the single cells.
![]()
During our tests we did not experience any critical overtemperatures or thermal runaways of our batteries, even at increased stress. Capacity, depending on the current drawn and the discharge cut off voltage, was within our expected range. Instead, not a single of the numerous "high-quality" cells had a capacity that was close to the rated capacity. Therefore we decided to stick with the "standard" batteries for the "standard" version of the LongRunner that seemed safe and according to our measuring capabilities the pack seemed definitely not "dangerously overrated". Each battery is also equipped with a nicely assembled battery management system which worked during our testing as expected.

The on-board energy storage system is definitely not a "Ferrari"- but hey, that was never our intention when creating an "affordable" eSkateboard. "Hot swappable" battery packs are nice, no doubt, we thought about it, but assembly cost was much higher. Simply adding more cells to the board is an option- but makes the board heavy and the feeling of a skateboard is lost- just as the skateboard feeling is lost when you use one of those belt-drive skateboards!

We are so excited to have been able to source the most affordable parts and in our workings with designers and engineers from Asia, Europe and USA, we have an excellent design that is simple, functional but most of all; long lasting and very cool.
Every skateboard is being hand assembled and will be tested by our engineers for functionality, nothing is more important than the durability and reliability, with LongRunner you get both and it looks great!
Our Germany-based team had long been interested in "electro-mobility", which is a huge political issue in Germany and actually in all countries throughout Europe. During our research we realized that many Asian countries had already massively advanced electro-mobility and somehow, during a business trip, we were confronted with electrical scooters, hover boards and - skateboards! These skateboards that we initially came in contact with in Hong Kong were of outstanding quality but were also offered at an extremely unattractively high price. At the same time, components used in RC planes and even hover-board copies were offered at a much, much lower price. Against this background we thought that we must find a way to combine the advantages of the comparably cheap but solid hoverboard components, that are currently flooding the markets, with a neat and sexy skateboard!
With our experience in electric brushless speed controller programming, in optimizing microcontroller-codes and with our patience in bench-testing cheap Chinese batteries and chargers until they truly burst into flames, we went out to China with a specific mission: To find a combination of high quality components that, with only slight modifications could be used to assemble a perfectly working, long-lasting quality longboard: the "Longrunner" was born. A brand was founded and a design created, several prototypes were assembled as per our instructions, bench and field tested.
Many other cheap Chinese-brand boards were tested and even though many components looked alike, there were massive quality and e-design issues concerning not only the battery or insufficient stability, but mainly programming issues or a lack of programmability, which resulted in dangerously accelerating or decelerating motors- something you simply do not want to have in a skateboard.
Therefore we were more than happy when we had all components optimized and ready to be put together to get the final product that we are very, very proud to offer today via Kickstarter: Our Longrunner - truly the first "affordable" electric skateboard.
One of the major issues with these skateboards, but also with hoverboards or other scooters, is battery life. We therefore optimized our components to offer a totally novel feature: CHARGEABILITY during rinding, with our RangePak concept. All boards that we offer are equipped with the feature that enables the board to be "charged" ON THE WAY, while the user is riding the board! Using a set of special connectors and a backpack-based battery system that we developed in Germany and in Hong Kong, this combination gives our backers the chance to experience an unprecedented Independence.

Hello everyone
It’s Monte, you probably know me from the original post where I introduced myself and my two friends: Paul and Alex.
Many have been asking who is the designer or lets say “whose idea was it for the Long Runner”. Well, as much as I don’t like taking the credit, it was my idea and I will tell you why.
I live in and love Berlin, I love that the public transportation can get me almost anywhere, as a student I am always on the go, not only to school but meetings and parties and other social activities.
What really gets on my nerves was the distance between the bus, tram and train stops to my destination, you know how it is: the bus never stops where you wish to get off. So I carried my skateboard with me for these trips, which is really cool…but I in the summer I am all sweaty when I arrive.
I wanted something electric, something with no CO2 exhaust and something that I can carry into the café, classroom or place of business because lets face it; in Berlin, bikes can end up disappearing from the street or hallway pretty quick.
There is a massive choice of electric skateboards…if you’re rich. That’s my problem; I am not. So my idea came to create a board that was inexpensive enough for a student to buy.
This is when Paul and Alex came into the picture, when it got serious and we decided to move forward. After completing the travels, finding the parts and pricing, we got our friend Julian, who is an Engineer and Scientist to start the process of putting it all together.
Since we were on a roll we came up with more ideas and the newest one being the range extender, making the distance you can travel much further and faster, this is really cool and it is super practical as an extra battery for those long Saturdays. I also wanted to design it a bit different than others and give it a sort of city feel, which is where the design comes from. Ok not much you can do with a skateboard but I think we made it stand out from all the others; The least expensive, furthest going, fastest E Board on the market…we did it!
The next step was obviously to find a company that can serve all our needs, and we found one, which happens to be a friend of a friend. Kreativis is a Trading company, which works international, they are hooking us up with Marketing, Sales support, Social Media, videos, Logistics, shipping, sourcing and even production. I never knew selling a product required so much support; it is amazing, we are so very thankful for Kreativis.
So that’s my story guys, thank you for the support, we are doing all we can to make this as cool and as practical and fun as possible, while at the same time, running the business. Thanks for believing in us!

What is the maximum range of the LongRunner?
Dependent on your weight and the speed and surface you are riding on you can go approx. 6-9 miles with one charge. Using the RangePak the maximum reach will be increased to 24 Miles!
Where will the boards be shipped from?
We have several warehouses around the globe from where the boards are being shipped - to avoid any custom/tax fees for you.
Will the battery be exchangeable? Will you offer modifications / extensions / upgrades?
Yes, we will offer modifications / extensions asap, but: After months of bench testing of various types of batteries we have to say that, with respect to keeping the balance between cost and features, we had to work out a tradeoff between customizability, battery capacity and safety. We are pretty confident that our solutions are somewhat close to the sweet spot between performance+safety vs. cost.
Why are shipping costs fixed to a specific value, regardless of the country I live in?
We chose an average shipping price - one for all countries - as some require costs above 39€, and some below. Most Backers dont come from Europe. We thought this would be quite fair for all. After the campaign we go online with our onlineshop and then give you shipping options adapted to your country.
What is the "max power" of the motor?
It is precisely 327 watts with the onboard battery! The motor itself accepts much higher peak powers though
What is the maximum user weight for the board?
The max. weight for the LongRunner is about 100 kg / 220 lbs
What is the maximum climbing limit of the board?
You can go up to a maximum climbing limit of 15° degrees.
How fast can I go?
Going in high speed mode, the maximum speed is around 15-25 km/h.*
How long does it take to fully charge the LongRunner?
It takes about 3 hours to fully charge your board for your next adventure!
Is it possible to attach the motor to other decks?
Yes! You can easily detach the board from the motor and attach the motor to your preferred deck
Can I use the LongRunner just like a normal skateboard without damaging the motor?
Of course you can! The motor shows almost no cogging, which is one of the biggest advantages of the Sensored Hub Motor.
Is the board/motor water-resistant?
The motor is generally waterproof but should be dried after riding through a wet environment to avoid corrosion.
When do you start shipping?
- We plan to start shipping your boards in July! So excited!
Where can we get spare parts (wheels, motors, controlers, remote, internal battery)?
We will offer replacement parts at a very fair price via our webshop with worldwide coverageand instructions on how to replace parts. With respect to wheels / trucks, you may use your own choice, get it via Amazon etc.. With respect to the controller / motor / remote, we do recommend you get it from us.
A spare certified internal battery will probably be offered at about 35 USD.
Can I re-pair the remote?
Yes you can, even without unscrewing. A simple firmware-programmed trick will do it:
a turn on remote only
b press reset for 5 sec. until all lights flash
c turn on the board
Can someone "take me over" with another remote control?
Certainly not, unless two boards were accidentally paired together in the factory. The protocol is 2.4 GHz wireless, like WIFI or bluetooth, but higher power output than bluetooth.
What are the dimensions of the wheels, the trucks, the board, the bearings, the battery...?
Wheel Dimensions:
We have chosen cost-effective standard wheels with the following dimensions:
72 mm diameter,
Z809 Bearings,
M8 self-locking nuts
51 mm track
Trucks:
Distance between inner sides of wheels: 118 mm
Distance between outer sides of wheels: 220 mm
14 mm self locking nut (kingpin)
Standard rubber bushings
Hanger width about 170 mm
Axle width 220 mm
Note: Distance between holes in the contact plate for mounting the deck are compatible with both old school and new school dimensions ( six hole plates!) This would be about 62 mm / 52 mm and 42 mm between the holes.
We made sure that the dimensions are completely compatible with high-class tracks / decks that you may wish to use at some point
Deck dimensions (approx.):
200 mm * 700 mm * 25 mm.
You can use any other deck at your own discretion!
Internal battery dimensions (approx.):
height: 20 mm
width: 75 mm
length: 135 mm
Whats the weight of the Board?
Board’s weight is apprx. 3.4 kg
During our testing sessions, which took place on a smooth and even surface, we did not even dare to go at full speed on high mode, so be safe! Always wear a helmet and proper safety equipment! Needless to say that all performance data severely depend upon the user’s weight, the surface (smooth asphalt or concrete street vs. gravelly roads), the inclination, whether you are riding sharp curves or just going straight.
