About ‘Looking for Lou’ and the Crew
Our names are Lu (director), Ava (producer), Lilly (cinematographer, camera), Luke (sound design), Dan (production design), and Alfie (editor, script supervisor). We’re second year Film and TV Production students at York St John. We all share a love of Lynch, sketch comedy and the golden age of YouTube.
This April, we're making a short film entitled 'Looking for Lou', about one poor schmuck's drug-fuelled quest to reunite with his first love. With this project, we want to make ourselves and those who support us proud, as well as launch our careers in the film industry. We each have aspirations to become directors, cinematographers, producers, etc. Your contribution will help us make a start on our journey, and we’ll be eternally grateful for your assistance and encouragement.
What We Need & What You Get
Good news is we’ve already got the equipment from uni! We’d pawn some of it if we could, but we reckon the uni would notice. We’re budgeting about £1,000 to pay and provide catering for our actors and extras, £600-700 for costume and set design, £200 for campaign rewards, and another £100-200 for transportation and miscellaneous needs such as festival entry fees. If there’s anything left over in these last three sections of the budget, it will be paid to the actors and extras.
Some of our perks include early access to the short, a digital lobby card, a surprise gift and thank you card, special thanks in the credits and a signed prop poster from the set. For every £100 donation, we’ll throw a tomato at our producer and send you the video (she deserves it). And for £200, we’ll throw a pie in the face of the crewmember of your choice!
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can’t donate, it would still be a big help if you would share the campaign with others!
