QUEREMOS HACER UNA PELÍCULA CON
IMPRO
Queremos
hacer una película y necesitamos tu ayuda. No es una película cualquiera, es
una película con técnica de Improvisación Teatral: vamos a ir creando la
historia, mientras la vamos filmando. Suena a locura, pero ya hemos probado que funciona. Hicimos
“CERO”, un cortometraje de 8 minutos, con la misma técnica. Ahora vamos por
más.
“Los
Helechos” es el nombre tentativo de esta historia, que va en tono de comedia
dramática: Dos parejas de amigos pasan el fin de semana en el campo: en el valle
de Azpitia, una hermosa campiña conocida por sus piscos –amigos no peruanos, el
pisco es un destilado de uva considerado bebida nacional-. Sin los hijos, ni la
rutina de por medio, tienen que reconocerse, compartir el tiempo, y quizá,
resolver algunos problemas. Vamos a ver qué sucede.
¿Por qué hacemos una película de treintañeros y cuarentones con problemas de pareja
escapándose un fin de semana? Pues porque los actores tienen esa edad y
queremos que la peli se vea realista. Y porque todos en el grupo nos
identificamos con esos personajes. De
alguna manera somos como estos eternos adolescentes que buscan ordenar sus
vidas para ser (o por lo menos simular ser) los adultos que la sociedad espera que seamos.

sí quieres ver una peli así?
Tu valioso aporte
permitirá filmar la película. Es decir invertiremos cada dólar en las cosas que
no podemos eludir: Comida, transporte y alojamiento del elenco y el equipo
técnico. También nos alcanzará para comprar/alquilar algunas cosas que necesitamos
en las áreas de producción, cámara y arte.
Vamos a
filmar durante dos semanas a finales de noviembre, por eso nos urge que nos des
una mano para llegar al objetivo.
Sabemos que
no será fácil (vamos, ¡ningún rodaje lo es!), pero como dicen en la Impro: “Si
la puerta no se abre, nos metemos por la ventana”. Haremos que sucedan las
cosas. Estamos decididos a hacer este rodaje de todas maneras, y queremos que
seas parte de esta aventura.
La idea es
tener la película lista alrededor de setiembre de 2016. Haz historia con
nosotros siendo parte de la primera película filmada con técnica de impro en el
Perú.

Lo que te

esta película, como en la Impro, necesitamos del público para poder contar la
historia, y es algo que también te ofrecemos: puedes ser parte del rodaje y de
esta historia, puedes verificar que realmente hacemos Impro, o darnos algunas
líneas de texto o elementos que aparecerán en la peli.

QUIÉNES SOMOS, QUÉ HACEMOS
Ahora
hablemos del equipo. Hacer Impro no significa que seamos unos improvisados,
sino todo lo contrario. Nos hemos estado preparando desde 2014 con ensayos y
experimentos. Nuestro elenco multinacional (tres peruanos, una ecuatoriana, una
argentina y una española) suman entre todos más de medio siglo haciendo Impro.
Y el equipo técnico, entre todas sus áreas, tiene más de 15 películas en su
haber.

WE WANT TO MAKE AN IMPROV-BASED FILM
We
want to make a film and we need your help. This is not just any film,
it’s a film made with Improvisational theatre technique: we’ll be making
up the story as we shoot it. It sounds crazy but we’ve tried it before.
We made “Zero”, an 8 minutes short film, using this very same
technique. And now we want more.
“The Ferns” is the working title
for this story, a dramatic comedy: two couples of friends spend a
weekend in Azpitia valley, a beautiful countryside known for its Piscos
-- Non-Peruvian friends, Pisco is a grape distillate considered a
national drink here in Peru. Without their kids and the daily routine to
worry about, these four friends will have to recognize themselves,
share some time, and perhaps, resolve some unfinished business. Let’s
see what happens.
Why are we making a movie about people in their
thirties and forties, who have relationship problems and try to escape
for one weekend? Well, because the actors are about that age and we want
the movie to feel real. And also because we all here identify with
those characters. Somehow we’re like those eternal adolescents who try
to find meaning in their lives, in order to be (or pretend to be) the
grown ups society expect us to be.
You want to see a film like this one, right?
Your
valuable contribution will allow us to shoot the film. We will invest
every single dollar in the things we cannot avoid: Food, transport and
accommodation for the cast and crew. We’ll also use the money to
buy/rent stuff we need for the production, camera and art departments.
We’ll shoot during two weeks at the end of November, this is why we urgently need your help to make it on time.
We
know it won’t be easy (let’s face it, no shooting never is!), but like
they say in Improv: “If the door closes, slip through the window”. We
will make this happen. We’re decided to shoot this film anyway, and we
want you to be part of this aventure.
The idea is to have the
movie finished by September 2016. Make history with us, by being part of
the first Improv-based film made in Peru. Help us with your

short film “Zero”, Anto’s previous work, “End of Times” -winner
of the Peruvian National Short Film Contest 2014-, music part of the film’s

access to a behind-the-scenes footage. Even before we shoot the film
you will see us create our characters.
You can also be in the
film credits. Yes! Your name (or your company’s name, if you like) up
there in the big screen, in one of the different sections we set up for

And there’s more! In this film, like in Improv, we need
the audience’s help to tell the story: You can be part of the shooting
and the storytelling, you can verify we are truly making it Improv, or
give us some lines or prop elements that we promise to use on the film.

WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO
Now,
let’s talk about the team. Making Improv does not mean we make a
makeshift work, just the opposite. We’ve been preparing for this since
2014, with rehearsals and experiments. Our multinational cast (three
Peruvians, one Ecuadorian, one Argentinian and one Spaniard) sums in
total more than half a century making Improv. And the crew members, in
all the areas, have more than 15 films on their backs.
