Anna's Cider is the first commercial hard cider producer in Ventura County, California, run by husband and wife team Dominic and Anna O'Reilly, who share a passion for craft food and beverages. We first got interested in cider about a year ago, and soon realized that the cider market is dominated by overly-sweet, manipulated ciders. Dominic is a winemaker by profession, and we knew that with his extensive winemaking experience, he could produce a cider far superior to most of what is already on the market.
We start with the very best apples, sourced from local farmers, and employ careful fermentation methods in small batches--and, what's more, we don't use any chemical additives to cover up mistakes or manipulate flavor or color! What you see is what you get: our hard cider is produced from fresh, raw, apple juice, and nothing else! We let the apples speak for themselves.
Sure enough, when we launched our first batch at the Santa Paula Core Pour Festival on November 11th, the two comments we kept hearing from the crowd was that it was the first cider they'd ever tried that actually tasted like apples, and that it was so nice to finally taste a cider that wasn't too sweet.
When the Thomas Fire struck on December 5th, we lost everything: our production facility, our equipment, and all the cider we were storing. We are determined to rebuild and continue producing our craft cider for our local community as soon as possible. We thank you for your contributions--anything helps!
-If we raise $10,000, we can pick up where we left off before the fire with no further delay and we will have cider available on tap in your local restaurants by January.
-If we raise $30,000, we will be able to do all of the above, AND start retailing in your local grocery store and shipping out-of-state.
-If we raise $200,000, we will do all of the above and have a taproom open by summer!
