Short Summary
My name is Brandon Russell and I'm from Nashville, Tn. I've set up this campaign in order to help fund the Louise M. Borah Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund was set up by my grandfather the day my grandmother passed away.
My grandmother was such a self-servant to others. Hardly a week went by that she did not prepare food for another family. She was always thinking of others and wanting to impact them in a positive way. She was the secretary of the North Love Baptist Bible College and for the past years, she served as the librarian also. During almost fifty-one years of being married to my grandfather, her guest book lists some of the many thousands who stayed and were cared for in her home. My grandmother definitely was a behind the scenes hero, however, her lectures and life have impacted many hundreds of students!
We recently noticed that my grandmother was becoming very weak, but the doctors could not figure out the problem. She spent fifty-two of her last sixty days alive in the Critical Care/Intensive Care Units of the local hospital. I drove up to Rockford, IL. where she lives and spent a day with her. I remember her not being able to stand up out of her chair because she was so weak. The morning before I left my grandmother was able to go out to eat with PopPop, my girlfreind, and myself. She seemed to be doing great! I said my goodbyes as I drove back home, not knowing that I'd never see my grandmother again.
I got a call just a few days later that my parents were driving through the night back to Rockford, IL. to see my grandmother in the emergency room where she was being kept on full life support in CCU. My mom was able to spend the last few hours by the side of her mom before she passed away.
Hundreds of people showed up for my grandmother's funeral in proof of the lives she had touched. People flew in from Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, and other states. The evening of my grandmother's funeral, my grandfather decided to set up a scholarship fund in memory of his dear wife.
Every year at graduation at the North Love Bible Baptist College, my grandfather plans to give this $1,000 scholarship to a young lady who has graduated from the Reformers Unanimous Ladies School of Discipleship in Rockford, IL. The college only charges $500 tuition each semester. Because of your contributions, this scholarship will enable one young lady to attend college at NLBBC for one whole year free.
What We Need & What You Get
I am setting up this campaign to raise at least $1,000 for the Louise M. Borah Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will send one lady from the Reformers Unanimous Ladies School of Discipleship to North Love Baptist Bible College for one year for free.
Every contribution will be greatly appreciated!
The Impact
Reformers Unanimous (RU) operates homes for men and women who struggle with addictions. Those who graduate from the homes are offered the privilege of going to college for only $1,000 a year! Many of these graduates cannot pay for college. By your contribution to this campaign, you will help change their lives forever!
