Lufbery is an independent pocket watch company dedicated to making stunning pocket watches for the dapper man about town.
Our pocket watches are inspired by the pocket watches issued to the gentleman pilots of the Royal Flying Corps during the First World War.
Lufbery was founded by Stuart King when he failed to find a dapper pocket watch to wear on his wedding day.
Lufbery Watches is named after the famous First World War airborne manoeuvre known as the Lufbery Circle.
Lufbery pocket watches are inspired by the pocket watches issued to the British pilots of the Royal Flying Corps during the First World War.
The Mark IV (issued in 1914) and Mark V (issued in 1916) pocket watches were the world’s first cockpit watches.
They were so highly regarded that they were the only item of equipment ordered to be retrieved from a stricken aircraft.
The style of our case and the design of our dial have both been shaped by these iconic watches.
We have named our collection of pocket watches the Mark VI to recognise the influence the Mark IV and Mark V have had on the design.
The Lufbery logo pays homage to the broad arrow stamped on all equipment that belonged to the British military.
The Mark IV and Mark V pocket watch had the arrow stamped on the back of their case.
Our first collection, the Mark VI collection, consists of five pocket watches. Each pocket watch has been named after a Royal Flying Corps airfield used during the First World War.
Named after the Royal Flying Corp's airfield in Doncaster, Yorkshire. The Lufbery Doncaster has a brushed stainless steel case and a white dial.
Named after the Royal Flying Corp's airfield in Montrose, Scotland. The Lufbery Montrose has a matte black case and a black dial.
Named after the Royal Flying Corps airfield at Shoreham, on the south coast of England. The Lufbery Shoreham has a gold plated case and a white dial.
Named after the Royal Flying Corps airfield at Uxbridge in west London. The Lufbery Uxbridge has a brushed steel case and a black dial.
Named after the Royal Flying Corps airfield in Andover, Hampshire. The Lufbery Andover has a matte black case and a white dial.
At Lufbery we create elegant timepieces with high quality components. Our design process took six months as we wanted the pocket watches to be perfect.
The Lufbery pocket watch has a simple, beautifully designed, bespoke case. It is made from premium 316L stainless steel. The weight of the Lufbery is designed to convey a feeling of quality and strength whilst visually appearing refined.
The dial is the showpiece of any watch. Lufbery's beautiful dial pays homage to the dials of the original aviation pocket watches of the First World War.
We have used domed sapphire crystal glass to showcase the beauty of the dial. It is scratch resistant and made to last.
The movement, the heart of the watch, is a Seiko VD78. Produced by a Japanese company, Seiko, which have a long track record of producing precise, reliable movements.
Each pocket watch comes with a 30cm chain with an attached T bar. Each chain is the same colour as the watch case.
