What is ‘LURK’ and who is Paul Preston?
‘Lurk’ is a short film written by Paul Preston. Paul started writing at a young age and after studying acting at college and university, he went on to write and produce plays with his company ‘Northern Monkey Productions’. After two very successful plays ‘Love, Lies & Language’ and ‘Madcap’ Paul set about creating ‘Lurk’, a thought provoking thriller/drama.
When a man known only as ‘The Lurker’ is hired by Adri to kidnap an underworld asset he goes against his better judgement and free will to have Joanne tag along as Adri’s insurance. When Joanne and the target go missing ‘The Lurker’ is dragged into the underworld of gangs and corruption in order to answer for his mistake. ‘Lurk’ is a thriller full of twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Joshua Dorfman and Fallout Productions?
Joshua studied at Dublin film school and York Saint John University. He has an extensive amount of experience in cinematography and excels in the production and editing of short films.
In 2010, Fallout Productions Ltd was created. The company that has worked all throughout the UK via multiple forms of media production (short film, music video, documentary, corporate and charity). Fallout Productions has worked alongside many local companies and multiple council bodies and has been reviewed in the local media such as the Brighouse Echo. Fallout Productions will be creating their sixth short film 'Lurk' which is to be released October 2012
What WE need and what YOU get
We are asking for $1100 (£700 approx) to help fund this film….
This is a lot of money but will seriously help make this project a reality and a great reality at that. Due to Joshua’s and Fallout Productions involvement, we have all the equipment we need ranging from lighting equipment to the DSLR cameras, the problem with having all this equipment is getting it from A to B. that is where some of the money will go, we have to rent a van for the duration of the shoot (4 days) and cover fuel expenses. Here is a breakdown of what the money will be used for;
- Van Rental + Fuel - $355 (£225)
- Accommodation x 2 - $110 (£70)
- Travel Expenses for Actors - $160 (£100)
- Props - $160 (£100)
- Costume - $175 (£110)
- Food Expenses - $150 (£95)
If we are unable to meet our full goal of $1000 the project would still go ahead but with more difficulty. We would have to sacrifice certain things like, locations and actors which would drastically effect the outcome of the film in terms of quality.
Once the film is completed we are looking at having a one off Premiere to show everyone the finished product, if you invest as small as $15 we will give each investor a thank you credit and a ticket to the première. We will be entering the film into international festivals and we believe this is a great project for people to get involved in.
