It was many-a-moon of paint and foam dust on the hands of Marti and Trev that kicked it all off. It was hours of cultivating the ideas, approaches and making sure the core ethics were strong and steadfast. A partnership soon formed with Blake Combrinck, owner of the exciting Knext Gallery in Cape Town CBD where we then hosted a Drink&Draw. This saw some of Cape Town's strongest visually creative talent in the same room, making things. Since then we have already commissioned 8 artists (in our first month) and have come to the moment to put out a call to action and contribution in exchange for beautiful artworks and merchandise This involves YOU, lovely worldly beings. We believe in this idea and believe you will too. The potential is infinite and the intent is wholesome. Please take a few minutes to read below.

Thi campaign is aimed at raiding funds to kick off our business, get our boards into the right places, build a website and get artists painting boards in order to solidify the family. When this ball is in full-roll, we're going to be affecting and helping grow the careers of a range of artists. With this in mind, we've focussed on the art, on getting artist's designs and artwork out there. The campaign itself simply functions as an art auction, with the flare and added intricacy of surfboards
We need R200 000 or $16000
In essence, you'll be contributing to a drastic shift in the lives of many creatives.MAAkboards will affect many people, from the people making the boards to the people who get to ride them globally. The concept allows for the expansion of a unique community, to bring in artists, create exposure, a solid revenue stream and surfboards that only dreams could create. The community, which includes artists and buyers of the boards, will benefit from ongoing social media updates of the travels of the boards, building a creative, open platform for contributions of writing, poetry, photography and artworks. It is all about creativity and is able to be expanded to a point of real, effective inclusivity. ![]()
