Our Story
Want to see British actor Jason Carter (Marcus on the classic hit sci-fi series Babylon 5) return as an unconventional private investigator who's a bit of Sherlock Holmes, a splash of Sam Spade, and a dash of The Doctor?
I'm Jerry Seward, creator and executive producer of an independent movie pilot titled Pendragon, P.I. that I'm currently developing with Jason and a gifted and accomplished production team. Jason will play the lead, a man who - along with his helper Lucy (played by April Washko) - relies on his deductive skills to sort through a maze of clues in an attempt to solve the case of mysterious disappearances in a small, lakeside Michigan town where impossible things happen.
What We Need & What You Get
In order to bring Pendragon's adventures to life, we need to raise more than $50,000 to make a full-fledged, 90-minute TV movie/pilot. Any and all funds will go toward production - the production needs help with food, travel expenses and lodging for cast and crew, our camera costs, make-up, wardrobe, props, set design, and promotion. As this will be a low-budget production (to be shot on location in Michigan) without studio backing, we'll stretch every dollar while still maintaining a professional approach. As a contributor, your name will be attached (possibly with a producer credit) to an exciting project that promises to successfully mix the sci-fi and hard-boiled detective genres, and you will regularly receive updates on Pendragon's progress, and get potential access to the cast and crew (including Jason Carter), perhaps even an invite to the set.
The Impact
I believe that Pendragon, P.I. has the strong potential to be something ongoing. The team saw that potential when we shot a rough 6-minute concept video earlier this year. We're eager to get back to work and want to make something that's fun, entertaining, smart, and full of adventure. We're even exploring the possibility of doing a 3D version of this project. Also: keep in mind that with the involvement of one sci-fi TV name, it could definitely lead to the inclusion of other actors familiar to contributors, and I would welcome any suggestions in that area (we want fan involvement).
I've been an independent producer in Michigan for five years (associate producer on an award-winning Cannes Film Festival short film entry) and it would be a dream come true to make a project with Jason in a continuing lead role.
