About Making Megaforce
It's widely regarded as one of the worst movies of the Eighties...
...and we’re making a documentary about how awesome it is.
Starring Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show), 1982's Megaforce is packed with futuristic vehicles, spandex jumpsuits, insane stunts, and corny dialogue. It’s an adolescent adventure that time has forgotten.
But one man remembers: director Bob Lindenmayer, and he’s on a quest to convince the rest of the world just how amazing this underappreciated stunt-filled spectacle is. The world’s biggest Megaforce fan, Bob owns a fleet of fully operational dune buggies and motorcycles from the film.
At first, Bob’s mission is pretty straightforward – chronicle the making of this box-office flop through cast and crew interviews. But when he meets his hero, Barry Bostwick, his film takes a left turn and becomes something more than a documentary – it becomes a hilarious and touching tribute to the power of fandom, friendship, and flying motorcycles.
Making Megaforce is a feature-length documentary scheduled for released in 2024, starring Barry Bostwick and directed by Bob Lindenmayer.

We're almost done...
We’ve been on a 4-year quest to make a documentary nobody asked for about a movie few remember – and now we need your help to finish this adventure.
In our quest to redeem Megaforce, we’ve filmed cast & crew interviews – everyone from actor Michael Beck to legendary producer Al Ruddy. We’ve visited filming locations in the middle of nowhere. We’ve even shot ridiculous stunt sequences with a bunch of restored Megaforce vehicles.
Honestly, we mostly just hung out with Barry Bostwick a lot.
How you can help
Now it’s time to finish this thing – which is where you come in! We need your help covering some important post-production work that will help us deliver the best possible version of the film.
Your support towards our campaign will help us pay for:
- Editing
- Original music
- Color correction
- Sound mixing
- Production costs
- Festival fees
Basically, your backing will help us cross the finish line.
Why we want your support
Hey, we know there aren’t a lot of people out there who love Megaforce like we do – or have even seen it (you should check it out, it’s amazing.)
But that doesn’t matter, because we believe the world is full of people like you:
- People who are into cult cinema or Eighties pop culture
- People who dig retro-futuristic assault vehicles
- People who appreciate spandex and lost causes
- People who get what it’s like to be a fan of something -- even if nobody else likes it
If that sounds like you, we’d sincerely appreciate your support helping us finish this movie that’s come to mean so much to us. Help us get the word out - share a link with someone you think would appreciate our movie and our mission.
Thanks, and Megaforce be with you!
-Bob and Barry

"It's all on the wheel; it all comes around."
Now this piece of movie history has come around to you: a real Megadestroyer assault dune buggy (shipping not included), and most of the rewards previous tiers.
We’re not kidding. This unique screen-used vehicle was an Orange County landmark for decades, parked prominently on PCH outside the now-closed South Coast Army & Navy surplus store in Newport Beach, CA. The vehicle is totally not drivable and will be handed over as-is – but come on! Tell us you don’t want it.
