Short Summary
I teach SKIF Karate, SKIF Bo-Jutsu and Tai Chi, and I do a lot of travelling to teach seminars in these arts.
Ever since I produced the very popular "Kanazawa No Bo" DVD, lots of people have been asking me to produce other DVDs. I have three main DVD projects that I would like to do:
-
A Tai Chi DVD, demonstrating the Yang-style short form as taught by Yang Ming Shi to Kanazawa Sensei, and by Kanazawa Sensei to me.
-
A follow-on DVD to Kanazawa No Bo, this time detailing the syllabus for SKIF Bo-Jutsu, which includes Kihon and Kumite, as well as the two kata shown on the first DVD.
-
A karate DVD, taking a look at certain kata in detail, and showing them in a way that Kanazawa Sensei said he had never seen done before when I demonstrated it for him. He then asked me to expand the research to other kata... Oh great, more work for me...
Unfortunately, I spent a LOT of money on the Kanazawa No Bo DVD, and I basically lost money on it. However, I have learned from my mistakes, and I know I could produce any one of the above projects for a lot less money. If I can do all three at the same time, then I can certainly make them more cost-effective, and get them out to people at a much more reasonable price.
I have most of the background work done, in terms of the "storyboard", script, etc. I know how I want them to look and feel when they are done. What I need is to get a good quality camera hired for the filming, and involve a good producer and editor to help put it all together for the finished product, so that it can be to the same standard (or better) as my first DVD.
What I Need & What You Get
That where you can help. €6,000 will get me the funds needed for doing one DVD, with an extra €2,000 needed for each one after that. But I can afford half the money myself, so I only need €3,000 to get the first project going, and €5,000 should enable me to make all three. (The plan is to do all the filming for all three in one day, and then edit them separately, depending on funds.)
To thank you for supporting these projects, I am offering a range of gifts, from a website acknowledgement, to posters (signed), DVDs (signed), and could even come to your dojo to teach! (But you'd have to cover my travel costs separately...)
Be part of these great projects and help me spread what I have been taught to as many people as possible.
Other Ways You Can Help
Even if you can't contribute financially, please share the link to this page so that others can learn about what I am trying to do. This can be a BIG help.
