I love cycling.

Not trained to be a professional, I just want a simple decent bike, that is suitable for all terrains in a city, to enjoy the breeze and differentiate myself from others.

Neither the fastest, nor the cheapest, but the most outstanding. The core idea when we start to develop MC² transforming bike is having fun.  

Vision

Inspired by the transformer movies, we brainstorm how to create a fun bike that is simple yet sophisticated within aesthetic yet functional,  lightweight yet reliable, and suitable for all terrains in a city, indoors or outdoors, on road or off road. We want MC² transforming bike to be not just a cool bicycle, but also a positive attitude and joyful lifestyle.

Transformability

MC² bike riders are able to self-configure the bicycle freely into Sport modes (driving wheel behind) and Cruiser mode (driving wheel in front), in which people will have unique riding experience and a lot of fun.

The Mobility mode allows long distance travel within a city by public transports.

Tools are not required during the folding process.

Now we are having a very exciting feature of recumbent saddle. It is foldable and user-configurable by adding extra joints (to different heights) and adjusting the suspension rubber length (to fine tune the each joint's angle to fit your spine).

After 200,000 times of 120kg-force impacts, MC² bike had passed ISO 4210 safety tests and now in production.

Since Ebikes are gaining in popularity, MC² bike is able to upgrade by replacing the driven wheel with a Ewheel addon. It's under developing and going to launch in 2017.

MC² Chainless driving system

MC² bike has no chain. Our patented chainless driving system simplifies the bicycle design by eliminate the indirect driving system, which has been using in vintage bicycles since 1880’s.

It also saves the trouble of maintenance. Since our gear box is directly attached onto the hub, there won’t be any headaches about chain dropping off and dirty your pants.

It outputs two gear ratios (1:1 & 1:3) for different speed requirements. 1:1 for climbing uphill, and 1:3 for normal riding, which are sufficient for daily use in a city.

Lastly, the driving wheel is a free wheel regardless of gear ratios. You can always do reverse pedaling anytime you want to.

MC² Hydraulic adapter

MC² bike features both hydraulic disc brakes on driving and driven wheels. To remain consistency of brake grip and caliper (left and right) after transforming, detachable non-flow through hydraulic brakes adapters are implemented. Since there is no hydraulic oil flow through all the time, it eliminates the oil residues during attach/detach processes. The oil reservoir is also integrated inside the adapter to compensate the temperature variations.

MC² gym kit

With the MC² Gym Kit, users are no longer limited to riding in the outdoors only, they can now enjoy riding the MC²​ transforming bike indoors anytime, on rainy days or in winter time. ​By attaching to the driving wheel, the dynamo can generate power for electronic devices, allowing users to work on multi-tasks while pedaling.

After dismantle, the whole set of Gym Kit only requires a small storage space (25cm X 15CM X 90cm).

Phone mount

We also CNC bicycle accessories, such as phone mounts. It is designed for all type of phones, with sizes from 3.5" to 6.2". Although it's lightweight, it has a strong holding force. With this simple device, you can happily ride with your phone.

Challenges

Although all parts in MC² bikes are precisely made by CNC process, we still need manpower for assembly due to the complexity of the mechanism. The solution is to set up more automation lines in near future.
