MDFF Presents
MDFF is a Toronto-based production company. We've been making films since 2007 - but we show films too. MDFF Presents is our monthly screening series programmed by a group of local filmmakers, writers and cinephiles, dedicated to discovering and championing new cinematic voices. Our team consists of: MDFF co-founders Dan Montgomery and Kazik Radwanski, as well as Blake Williams, Jeff Wright, Kiva Reardon and Ryan MacDuff.
Each month we present a one-night-only screening at our host venue, The Royal Cinema, often with directors in attendance for a post-screening Q&A. We offer fair screening fees to our filmmakers, and/or cover travel, accommodation and print traffic costs, plus venue rental and ticket sale share to our host, The Royal. MDFF Presents is a non-profit initiative, with all proceeds from our seasonal fundraiser going directly to costs associated with the screening series as a whole.

Handmade wooden MDF Trilogy
A re-release/second edtion wooden Blu-ray case handcrafted by co-founders Kaz and Dan. The disc contains three of our short films that make up The MDF Trilogy: Assault (2007), Princess Margaret Blvd. (2008) and Out in that Deep Blue Sea (2009). With construction of the of the unit, we aim to achieve tangibility out of digital filmmaking and commemorate the works which have contributed to the development of our cinematographic practice and style. The case is made from a single sheet of medium density fibreboard that was individually cut, drilled, glued and sanded – complimenting the material that our production company was named after. Left unprotected by paint or varnish, the case displays scuffs and marks of its making and use, and in this way, emphasizes our focus on creating films with unique cinematic handwriting, personal stories, spontaneity and simplicity.
Each handmade wooden Blu-ray case comes with an original film strip from a festival exhibition 35mm print of The MDF Trilogy!
