Me & My Monkey!
Hello Everyone:
I am Bradley Spann. I am an actor/writer in Boulder currently producing my first one man show. My background: I have performed with the Open Fist Theatre company, The Evidence Room, The Colorado Shakespeare Company, The Met Theatre, and The SITI Company to name a few. My training: I have an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University where I studied The Viewpoints, Roy Hart Voice work, Grotowski, and self scripting. I also studied Meisner for two years at The John Ruskin School of Acting in Santa Monica, Calif.
I am currently seeking funds to help promote my show, pay my designers, pay a videographer, pay a photographer, and to produce a DVD of the show.
Here is the description of my show:
Actor/Writer Bradley Spann takes you on an unforgettable and often hilarious journey through the trials and tribulations of a dress wearing monkey, a dopey raccoon, four hormonal sisters, an absentee brother, a sociopath, a traumatized mother, and a family owned & operated motel. A tale culminating in the bicentennial year of our country that you wonât find in any history book.
This show is a turning point in my career. This is the first time I am stepping out and writing/performing a solo piece. I feel all my training plus the years of living in among people who were inherent storytellers has led me to create my show. My goal is to have this be the first of many shows I will create. I see this show as my learning curve. I feel it is a strong show. I also know I have lots to learn. My goal is to be a fringe artist that tours the world performing at fringe festivals. I am excited to do this show and I want everyone to be a part of it.
