A NEW NAME FOR NEW CREATIONS!
After nearly two years of making watches under the name AXIOM and 3 successful Kickstarter campaigns, we have decided to introduce the BRAVOURE brand, which is more in keeping with the spirit of our watchmaking creations. This new name, synonymous with courage, is in perfect harmony with our current and future watch designs!
Apart from the name and logo, nothing else is changing: neither the quality of our watches nor our team. Rest assured, we are just the same, only with a new string to our bow!
VIVE BRAVOURE!
THE SOUL OF FRANCE
The history of France is made up of great moments, discoveries, inventions, victories, defeats, revolutions, and great men. And among these great men, there is no doubt that the most emblematic of all was also one of the most famous in the history of mankind: Napoléon Bonaparte.
A great conqueror and strategist, known for his military genius and modernity. Because of his influence throughout Europe, no one has left such a mark on France's history. Studied, analysed, decried, admired, passionate about science, invincible, fallen, incomparable: who, with any interest in life, can remain indifferent to Napoléon Bonaparte?
Born on 15th August 1769 on the island of Corsica, he was sent to military school at the age of nine, specialising in artillery thanks to his exceptional skills in calculation. Napoléon quickly rose through the ranks of the Republican Army, thanks to his unparalleled genius and daring, achieving numerous victories and proving his value to the whole Nation.
From battle to battle, from victory to victory, from the scorching deserts of Egypt to the frozen land of Russia, becoming at his peak the Emperor of the French, Napoleon Ier, reigning over part of Europe.
But before that, he was Général Bonaparte.
GENERAL BONAPARTE, BY BRAVOURE
Since the launch of AXIOM in 2017, watchmaking creations have often paid tribute to the men of military history.
This time, it is a limited edition dedicated to the celebrated Général Bonaparte. What theme could be better suited to announcing the brand's new name than he who lived his life by audacity and bravery!
On a cream white enamel dial, the tricolour cockade, symbol of the French Nation, is represented on the 24 hour dial at 6 o'clock, with red on the outside, blue and white in the centre, in the manner of the Emperor.
The Roman numerals are in dark blue, to recall, once again, the French colours. The elegant hands are all polished and blued.
The Général Bonaparte is limited to 250 pieces, the number of years that separate us from Napoléon Bonaparte's birth, the August 15th of 1769.
"Quand on veut on peut, quand on peut on doit."
On a slightly raised, brushed brass dial protected from oxydation, is engraved the quote "Quand on veut on peut, quand on peut on doit" , which translates as "When we want to we can, when we can we must", attributed to Napoléon Bonaparte.
This quote is represented here in the form of an injunction to use our will to achieve our dreams. It is with pride that it sits at the heart of this latest creation, which is also the first watch presented under the name BRAVOURE!
28,800 a/h, 26 JEWELS, MIYOTA 9100 AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT
With 28,800 vibrations per hour, 26 jewels, and about 40 hours of autonomy, the Japanese Miyota 9100 movement, known for its fabulous precision and flawless reliability, perfectly fulfils its role in the heart of the Général Bonaparte.
Our watches are made to last. This is also why we use first class materials and components, such as this Miyota 9100 movement, or the domed sapphire glass that elegantly caps this commemorative timepiece.
Moreover, the Général Bonaparte is waterproof up to 200 metres, like all our watches so far, in order to cope with (almost!) all situations.
Made of high quality, dark blue selected calf leather, the two-part strap is a reminder of the Bleu Roi (Royal Blue) woollen uniform, the colour of the National Army and of Général Bonaparte.
A HISTORICAL BACK
Entirely sculpted of 316L stainless steel, the Général Bonaparte has a finely sandblasted finish, contrasting with the brilliance of the dial and hands. The crown, screwed for optimal sealing, is also engraved with our new logo.
Made in the style of a medal, the back commemorates, Général Bonaparte's most brilliant victories.
This text translates as follows:
FROM YEAR IV TO YEAR VII GENERAL BONAPARTE WON THE BATTLES OF MONTENOTTE, DEGO, MONDOVI, LODI BRIDGE, BORGHETTO, CASTIGLIONE, ROVERETTO, BASSANO, ARCOLE BRIDGE, RIVOLI, LA FAVORITE, VALVASONE, THE PYRAMIDS, ABUKIR, FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC DURING THE CAMPAIGNS IN ITALY AND EGYPT
"YEAR IV TO YEAR VII" (An IV and An VII in French) correspond respectively to the years 1796 and 1799. Following the Revolution of 14th July 1789, the Gregorian calendar was "officially" replaced by the Republican Calendar, beginning in 1792.
Repealed in 1805, it was sometimes also used in conjunction with the traditional calendar, but it was thought interesting to incorporate it into this timepiece, also representing a tumultuous period and subject to all kinds of passions!
A HISTORICAL SYMBOL ON THE WRIST
Finding inspiration here in France as usual, the Général Bonaparte is above all an extremely reliable and high quality automatic watch.
Commemorating the most illustrious figure in our history, whose destiny was as brilliant as it was tragic, the Général Bonaparte is a resolutely unique piece, full of symbols, and with a daring personality, like its inspiration.
Its success would be a great victory for us, and the beginning of a new adventure for BRAVOURE!
We design our watches from the bottom of our heart, with all our passion. It really means a lot for us. We hope you will enjoy what we create!
