In the world of design, we often talk about trends. And trends are always changing. From the Empire State Building, an iconic building of the modern age to the minimalist home for contemporary arts centre; the elaborate and intricate design in the past has been replaced by minimalism. The industrial design has shifted to a user-friendly ergonomics approach.

As one of the industry innovators, we have been wondering if seamlessness is the big picture for future smartphone design.

Ceramic Unibody Design

In today’s digital age, technology is placed on a glowing box, with design that isn’t so much tangible, but about the feeling it invokes. With the incredible evolution of smartphone design in recent years, our devices are becoming increasingly portable and versatile, but its design is still evolving, and no one has given a glance into the future smartphone.

We’ve created the Meizu zero; a truly uninterrupted design. With the hope to embracing minimalism to the extreme and realise our unbound ideas, we’ve finalized an all-screen ceramic 3D design after countless sleepless nights and prototypes. We believe zero is a perfect illustration of “mobility”, “seamlessness” and “ergonomics”, it brings the revolutionary technology from future to the present.

To ensure signal stability, the hardness and texture, Meizu zero is uniquely crafted from premium ceramic material. From the initial injection molding to the final AF coating, the zero has undergone multiple CNC machining process and repeated polishing. Multiple 3D arc grinding and polishing steps are used to create smooth edges, and the seamless integration from the fuselage to the curved OLED panel, presenting you the absolutely stunning quality.

Virtual Side Button

To achieve a genuinely uninterrupted design, removing all physical buttons is the only solution.

Adopting “Pressure Sensing Technology”, Meizu zero has created virtual side buttons that power on or off the phone, as well as adjust volume, with just a touch. Virtual button not only relieves pressure on the edge frame, it also tackles the issue of unintentional touches and smoothing its way to earn a better waterproof rating.

For many users, traditional buttons offer haptic feedback, and our virtual side buttons provide the same tactile feedback via with our mEngine 2.0 linear haptic engine.

Super mCharge Wireless

We didn’t just want to give users wireless charging, we wanted to give them fast wireless charging, as long wait times for a phone to top up can be annoying.

Unlike the traditional wired fast charging, fast wireless charging can only be achieved through high voltage and low current. But how to guarantee the high-voltage energy is transmitted from the base?

With Meizu’s Super mCharge, 3-level buck and charge pump technology, zero delivers a constant voltage output at 18W, a breakthrough in wireless charging from the hardware level. We are pleased to introduce you “Super mCharge Wireless”.

High-speed Wireless USB

Due to the characteristics of high-speed data transmission, USB has moved into the mainstream technical standard for Smartphones. With just a data cable, user can seamlessly transfer files between phones and PCs. But bringing in an uninterrupted design with an unparalleled data transmission experience is our mission, therefore, zero opts for wireless USB.

The phone features a built-in wireless chip with a specification of 60GHz,plus a dedicated charging base, our wireless USB technology can handle the same bandwidth rates of USB 3.0.

What’s more, the wireless ship embedded with an independent OS and SoC micro system, so even the device is unable to boot due to firmware errors,a user can still override and rewrite the phones boot log via Wireless USB.

mSound 2.0 In-Screen Sound Technology

The Meizu zero features mSound 2.0 In-screen Sound Technology which allows the display to function like a speaker and an earpiece.

The sound waves are generated by the vibrations and propagated through the air. Thanks to the efforts of our technicians, the Sound Technology allows you to simply put your ear against the screen for the crystal-clear audio output. Transforming the display into a call receiver also helps us to bring in a true holeless screen.

The mSound 2.0 In-screen Sound Technology also transforms the entire front display into an external speaker, it prevents dust from trapping in the speaker and mic grills for better sound quality.

By optimizing the internal structure, adjusting the layout and choosing quality materials, Meizu zero delivers outstanding audio quality and unmatched levels of sound.

IP68 Certified Dust & Water Resistance

As a daring concept mobile phone, the Meizu zero has no physical bezels and notches, smoothing its way to earn an IP68 rating. The Meizu zero can withstand accidental submersion up to 2 meters underwater for up to 30 minutes. Attributed to its precision craftsmanship, underwater photography or videography is no longer limited by water, only your imagination.

eSim Support

To achieve a true uninterrupted design, the zero also eliminated the SIM tray too. The zero instead supports eSIM, a breakthrough in mobile technology. It eliminates the hassle of changing sim cards; with the digital management capability, users can efficiently manage multiple devices which significantly improving the user experience.

In-display Fingerprint

Meizu never compromises design over user-experience, to minimize the thickness of zero and to remove all bezels, the zero comes with an in-display fingerprint scan under its the AMOLED display. With the game-changing optical fingerprint sensor, you can unlock the phone just by placing a finger on the display.

Flyme 7

Flyme OS is a customized mobile operating system developed by Meizu for smartphones based on the Android Operating System, offering users an excellent interactive experience and intimate online services. The new Flyme 7 has inherited the gorgeous yet simple design of Flyme, and has been further upgraded with design details and interactive experiences. The new AI engine One Mind adds a plethora of useful features, making the AI system even smarter.

2.Crowdfunding Period

We plan on running the Meizu zero campaign from January, 30th to March 1st, 2019

3. What is included in the package order?

1x Meizu zero

1x Wireless charging base

1x Instruction manual

4. Does it support wired cable charging?

No, a wireless charging base is required.

5. Does it support other wireless charging bases？

It works with all Qi wireless charging bases but fast charging can only be activated by the included Meizu charging base.

6. How to transfer data between devices?

You can transfer files at high speed with our wireless charging base which includes a USB-C output cable. But transferring data via Bluetooth is also supported.

7. When will my order arrive?

We'll ship in April 2019, and keep you updated on shipping information and make sure that your order will be delivered promptly.
