Memories - a short film about the effects of Alzheimer's
written by Billie Nylander, produced by Basak Uzunsakal
Logline: Even if we forget, some moments exist with us forever.
A film about moments that connect through time, through music and family.
In a dream, a mother is making pancakes for her children. Suddenly the details in her vision disappear and she's in this scary shell of her life. Her family, by her bedside, notice her discomfort and do their best to let her know they are with her. Even as it is difficult to witness a loved one go through this sickness.
This project came from the grieving process of losing my grandmother, as well as experiencing someone close by deteriorating from Alzheimer’s for the third time. With my previous experience, I could process this time in a different light than others; I could more easily appreciate the time we spent together and could focus on her happiness- instead of my sorrow when she didn’t recognise me.
Help us fund this tribute
This film is our producer's graduation project from Met Film school. We will be provided state of the art camera equipment, but we need to fund production fees ourselves. These include:
- Actor fees
- Lunch for cast and crew.
- As the first part of the short is set during the 70s we need a budget to find the right location and dress it to fit our vision.
- The story is built from music and we want to pay a composer to create the best soundtrack for it, to weave everything together.
All donations matter and at specific prices we offer different perks as behind-the-scenes photos, pre-production package and etc.
