Meoticons is an app that will change the face (pun shamefully intended) of personal electronic communication and marketing using the personalized emoticon, or as we like to call it, the meoticon. The app will let you create meoticons by cropping and shrinking photos and assigning them to keystroke combinations, so you can easily insert and send them during electronic communications (texting, emailing, tweeting, etc.). So, when a friend’s text makes you happy, you can send them a picture of your own smiling face, as opposed to a generic yellow one! We think meoticons will usher in a personal electronic communication revolution – it’s hard to imagine why anyone wouldn’t prefer to use their own faces!

Meoticons will also provide a fun and rewarding way to interact with your favorite brands. Each meoticon will feature an embedded link that can direct users to a website. The personal version of our software – used by individuals to create personalized emoticons to share with friends – will direct to the meoticon’s homepage so your friends can join the emoticon revolution. The market version of our software, however, will let companies and individuals create meoticons and share them with their customers. These meoticons will link to a home page, social media page, or promotional website. For example, a meoticon for a restaurant could link to a website with a coupon code for a discounted meal; a meoticon for a musician could link to his fan page; or a meoticon for a basketball team could link to an interactive half-time game for fans. The possibilities are limitless! Meoticons will have the power to revolutionize marketing in the digital communications space as we know it!

For more detailed information on the project, including perks and sample screenshots, check out our detailed description file in the gallery. To see what a working version of the app might look like, check out our monkey-designed, semi-functional prototype.

Now, help us launch an emoticon revolution by liking, sharing, and contributing (if you can)!

*By way of full disclosure, we'd like everyone to know that we are (sadly) NOT affiliated with the Tessla museum project, The Oatmeal, or Mr. Inman. We stand in awe of their success, and hope to learn from it, but please don't mistake our project as being related to theirs. We're happy to have their blessing, if they should choose to bestow it, but that hasn't happened yet. We've gone out of our way to ensure that we don't infringe anyone's intellectual property rights, and in fact, if anyone disapproves or thinks otherwise, please let us know and we'd be happy to make any necessary changes. We're just trying to have some fun here and bring you a fun new app. Thanks, again, for your support!
