The Backstory
Howdy partner, my name is Michael Monroe Goodman and I am a Honky Tonk singer and songwriter from Kentucky. What is Honky Tonk music you may ask. Well its a mixture of country, rockabilly, blues, and bluegrass. I actually call my style of music "Kentucky Fried Tonk". I grew up in a very musical family. My grandpa was a Gene Autry disciple, my dad played bluegrass banjo, and I was lucky enough to be close friends with Bill Monroe and I spent most of my childhood backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. So, it's no wonder I have such a passion for American Roots music.

I have been a hard working music artist ever since my teens and I am so blessed to still be doing it today. I stay busy with writing and performing as a musician as well as being an actor and comedian. You can see me currently in Chicago at the Mercury Theatre playing Young Johnny Cash in the hit show "Ring of Fire", which is a musical about Johnny Cash's life and his music. I also spent two years with the successful Broadway show Million Dollar Quartet in Chicago and the national tour. Aside from acting in theatre and film I spend the rest of my time making music and making people laugh. I am a stand up comedian and improviser, and that certainly spills over into my songwriting as you can tell if you're familiar with my music.
The album "The Flag, the Bible, and Bill Monroe"
I have spent almost a year recording this album. Most of the recording has been in Chicago and mixing is being finished up by the legendary Alex Hall from Hi Style records who is a staple in the Chicago music scene. Mastering is going to be done by Independent Mastering in Nashville, who has worked on many award winning albums over the years. A lot of great musicians came together to record this including, Billy Bob Shaffer, Greg Hirte, Jesse Woelfel, Christy Miller, Tiffany Miller, Evan Dain, and Brian Wilke.

About the Funding
I am so grateful for the ability of music fans today to directly contribute to their favorite artist's music and that's why this campaign is so important to me.
My last crowd funding campaign was successful and it helped launch my last album "Unbreakable Heart" which was loved by critics and fans. I anticipate this campaign being even better than the last one. I need at least 8,500 dollars to pay for the launch. All the money goes toward

I am SO confident in this album, that any additional funds raised will go toward public representation. It cost money nowadays just to get your music heard by radio stations and reviewed my media outlets. I really hope to raise enough money to get my music introduced to millions of people who otherwise may never know what "Kentucky Fried Tonk" is. Any additional proceeds will go toward.

You Are My Rock!
Without fans of great music, like yourself, no one would be making great music. Crowd funding is this beautiful new thing that keeps the power with the people. Through small individual support from the masses, someone like myself can continue to make music and be out there performing it for you in the real world.

I greatly appreciate all of my fans (and future fans) who continue to push me to keep creating. From concert attendance, buying music and merchandise, to words of encouragement and praise, you keep me going. Thank you for being awesome.
