Milk House Shakes is the proud winner of Sacramento's 2017 Calling All Dreamers Competition! 

Milk House Shakes will be more than just a milkshake shop. By combining unique and delicious shakes with fun merchandising and an engaging experience, my plan is to develop Milk House Shakes into a popular Sacramento destination. Playing on the proximity of the Capitol and the political nature of the city, Milk House Shakes has this unique opportunity to bridge the gap between our nation's past and Sacramento's present.

At its core, Milk House Shakes serves milkshakes named after US Presidents. For example, FDR is the Nutella shake because Nutella was created during Roosevelt's presidency in WWII by an Italian baker. Chocolate and sugar were heavily rationed so the baker added hazelnut paste to chocolate to make it last longer. The Warren G. Harding shake is a green tea shake during the spring and summer and the chai tea shake during the fall and winter. Harding was president in the early 1920s during the infamous Teapot Dome Scandal - considered the first big political scandal in US history. 

(Side note: As a big fan of the Drunk History skits, one of my dreams is to go on the show and talk about the Teapot Dome Scandal. It is so fascinating!)

Every donation will drive me closer to realizing my dream of being a small business owner in Downtown Sacramento. This funding campaign will take the current space from an empty shell to an inviting milkshake shop! Specifically it will help cover the build for such things as: plumbing, electrical, flooring, counters, cabinets and equipment. 

Every project has risks and challenges. Milk House Shakes is a new endeavor, it's not an expansion. However, the prize package of Calling All Dreamers includes resources and guidance from many talented and successful individuals that I can access when needed. Milk House Shakes is projected to open in early 2018.
