MIME is a short comedy written by Ian Karassavidis and adapted
by Samuel Checo. Ian and Sam have been lifelong friends since kindergarten and
have since wanted to collaborate on a film project together. The inspiration
for MIME sort of came from nowhere and was purely born from the comedic hearts
of Ian and Sam. Its a heartwarming story that will leave you, and the Mime,
quite speechless... literally.

The cast and crew for Mime is truly a unique bunch of passionate
and enthusiastic individuals. Cast members are coming in from all different
parts of the Northeast to participate in this project and the crew are all
Binghamton University film students who love to shoot and shoot and shoot. Our
dream is to create films together for the rest of our lives, and its projects
like MIME that bring us closer to that dream everyday.

This project, created by Binghamton University Theatre student
Samuel Checo, is part of an attempt to promote filmmaking and collaboration
between student filmmakers and actors at the university. As part of the
Binghamton Film Initiative, a student-run website where students can connect to
create films, this particular project hopes to inspire other student filmmakers
to achieve their dreams and create movies.

With your support we will be able to take this film to new
heights. Production design, make-up, purchasing gear, wardrobe requirements,
feeding the cast and crew, and more are all essential parts to the filmmaking
process (and expensive essential parts as well...). As student filmmakers our
dreams are big, but our wallets are small, so please consider donating to this
film and help us make Mime one hell of a compelling story.

Risks and challenges
MIME presents some interesting challenges for us as student
filmmakers with a low budget. The film demands extensive make-up design as well
as set dressing needs, costumes, special filmmaking gear rentals, and many
more. With this money we will be able to allocate funds to these areas and help
bring Mime to a professional level of quality.
