When your kids ride their bikes, have you ever felt that
they are only a few inches away from danger and they won’t even notice it until
it’s too late? And even if you tried, you won’t be able to protect them?
![]()
We have developed MiniBrake, the remote controlled bike
brake system to tackle just this problem. The product consists of two parts: a
remote controller and a small brake attached to the rear of the bike.
Using the MiniBrake is as simple as it gets: when you sense that your kid is in
danger, you just press the controller and your child’s bike
comes to a safe and smooth stop.
And we know your first question: no, your kid will not fall over when the brake is applied! We've specifically designed the brake to avoid that even if your child is going fast. The brake is applied to the rear wheel, not the front and the brake is applied by putting pressure on that wheel, so it comes to a firm, but safe and smooth stop! Check out the MiniBrake in action:
Throughout the development and testing phases, we have consulted with moms, dads and their kids to make MiniBrake the perfect child safety product. We strongly believe that MiniBrake will
help you protect your kid!

Children aged 2-5 are learning new skills extremely fast.
However, sometimes they are quicker in learning how to ride the bike than they
are in perceiving dangerous situations. Or even if they notice a threat, they
are not skilled enough to avoid accidents and stop safely. Thus, parents often
feel that while riding the bike is super fun, they must protect their children
at all times.

Each day there are hundreds of bike accidents related to
cycling kids. Sometimes kids are unable to avoid a collision, and there is numerous safety equipment which aims to solve this problem.
Some resourceful parents take child safety just a little bit
too far. :)
Helmets,
elbow- and knee protectors are extremely useful, but they can only mitigate the
effect of a collision – in contrast, MiniBrake is used to
avoid bike accidents.

MiniBrake is a unique solution that actively prevents accidents. With the help of a simple
remote controller, parents can intervene and stop their kids in order to avoid
bike accidents.

Ensuring maximum safety
You
can never face a situation when you expect the MiniBrake to be available and it
is not functioning.
-
when switching
on the product, it automatically tests itself for right operation
-
when the
batteries run down, the product automatically stops the bicycle
- when reaching
the 50 meter / 164 feet range, the product automatically stops the bicycle
- also, as an extra safety measure, when anything blocks the signal between the remote controller and the bike, the brake is automatically applied.
- A moving bike is safely and smoothly stopped approximately within 0,5 metres / 20 inches.
Easy to install and use
-
The
product automatically switches off when the bike is not in use to avoid batteries running out of power due to an unswitched button.

General FAQ
Won’t my kid fall over when the brake stops the bike?!
This is the most common question and it is no wonder that You’ve raised it as well :) Our engineers designed the brake to avoid that even if your child is going fast. First, the brake is applied to the rear wheel, not the front, second, the brake is applied by putting pressure on that wheel, and not by suddenly blocking them.
What is the recommended age for using MiniBrake?
MiniBrake was developed for children who are still learning to ride a bike.
We believe that MiniBrake is most helpful for children aged 2-5, but can be
used as long as You deem it necessary for your child’s safety.
What happens when the
battery dies?
We designed MiniBrake to ensure total safety: in case the battery dies, the
brake automatically stops to avoid any situation in which the parent would be
unable to stop the bike.
How else do you ensure
that MiniBrake always works?
A built-in feature of the device is that the remote controller and the
brake attached to the bike are constantly signaling to each other – in case the
signal is interrupted, the brake automatically stops the bike. For example, if
the bike is out of range or a concrete wall blocks the signal, the brake stops
the bike.
How can I check
whether MiniBrake works properly or not?
Once you turn on the remote controller and the brake attached to the bike,
the device automatically runs a check – if both parts are working properly, a
LED light indicates that MiniBrake is ready to go. If either parts are not
ready for use, the brake automatically stops the bike. Nevertheless, if you
don’t have a spare battery at the moment, you just raise the brake shoe
manually and your kid is ready to go – but make sure to replace the battery for
the next ride in order for your kid to ride safely.
Shouldn’t my kid learn
to be careful on the road instead of me stepping in to “save the day”?
Of course he/she should! We completely agree that kids must learn to be self-reliant
and sometimes it’s necessary for kids to learn from their own mistakes. Thus,
MiniBrake does not aim to replace teaching kids how to be careful on the road.
However, there are always situations in which you do not want to teach your kid
a lesson – you just want to intervene and avoid an accident.
How can I equip my
kid’s bike with MiniBrake?
You can attach MiniBrake to your kid’s bike with the use of only an Allen
key by following the installation guide/manual – it is easy to install even at
your home and only takes a couple of minutes. You can adjust the MiniBrake to
suit bikes with different frame sizes. Thus, even if you buy a new bike for
your kid or you just want raise the seat, you will be able to adjust the brake.
Technical FAQ
How does it work?
MiniBrake is a remote controlled safety device that consists of two parts:
a remote controller in the parent’s hand, and a small brake attached to the
rear end of the bicycle. When you sense that your child is in danger, you just
press the remote controller and your kid’s bike comes to a safe and smooth
stop.
Is it safe?
A moving bike is safely and smoothly stopped approximately within 0,5
metres / 20 inches. To achieve this safe and smooth halt, the brake is applied
to the rear wheel, not the front, and it is applied by putting pressure on the
wheel, and not by suddenly blocking them. After your kid’s bike is stopped, you
can press the remote controller again which lifts the brake shoe and let’s your
child continue its ride.
Automatic?
To ensure complete safety, we have developed our product to automatically
stop the bike in case any problem occurs. For example, if the battery dies, the
bike is out of range, or a concrete wall blocks the signal between the remote
controller and the brake, the brake automatically stops the bike.
Range?
MiniBrake has a range of 50 meters / 164 feet: if your kid goes beyond that, the bike
is automatically stopped.
Waterproof?
Rain or drought, your child is safe –
MiniBrake is both drop- and dust-proof.
