My name is Anthony, and I have a great idea to customize the vinyl record experience.
I have grown up with the arts as a very vital part of my life, and with music being a cornerstone of gatherings, conversations and even career choices. While making a friend a mix cd last year, I discovered that a majority of the music on the cd didn't sound nearly as full as when I played them on a vinyl. I began to search for a way to create a custom mixed vinyl record, meaning I would get to choose the tracks and the order that would be pressed into the vinyl. I found that this was an incredibly expensive and time-consuming process.
That’s when I began to think,
There has to be a way to create custom mixed vinyl records, cheaply and efficiently so that people can better enjoy the music that they own.
Its a simple idea:
The Minyl Project would allow users to upload any audio files (purchased songs, recorded audio etc.) and have them cut onto a one-off vinyl record, creating your very own vinyl mix-tape!

The Minyl system is able to cut vinyls cleaner, smarter, and absolutely crammed full of music.
Who am I?
I am a recent Graduate of Full Sail Universitys Entertainment Business Program, living in Chicago and working in Event Production and Management. I have almost ten years of Technical Theatre experience, where I have worked as a Sound Engineer, Live-Sound Operator, Studio-Recorder, and Musician. Re-creating the vinyl experience is my top priority. This experience is different for everyone, but for me it's an opportunity to make music an experience. Having to choose the record out of the stack, dust it off, set it on the turn table and place the needle makes listening to vinyl records a very tactile and memorable process.
Why does Minyl need Funding?
Minyl is only possible with the right equipment. In order to cut vinyls in high quality, Minyl employs the use of a Diamond Tip cutting stylus, in hand with a series of playback monitors, and sophisticated software.
By contributing to this project, you are helping me set up the systems, equipment, and resources needed to allow the Minyl Project to succeed.
Funding would allow me to purchase equipment and build the software to test this idea and to ensure the end product is of the highest quality.
