Short Summary
Mister Wonderful is a Superhero Origin Story following Wyatt Watson, an overly joyful young man, who becomes the world’s first superhero. Except for this young man, it isn’t as easy as he’d thought he’d be. As he’s stuck doing press tours and not a lot of “superheroism” under the Government’s thumb. So will Wyatt step up to the plate and do something wonderful?
Written and directed by Cole Knight. Cole is a Virginia-based writer, director, and cinematographer. Currently studying Film Production at Shenandoah University. Cole has recently worked on the short film CLD-9, as well as the upcoming RZA feature film, One Spoon of Chocolate. Currently, Cole is directing and producing short films through his production company, SuperKnight Productions. Cole was the producer and cinematographer for Screech!! and writer and director for The Prowl, which was a finalist for Best Horror at the Virginia Emerging Filmmakers Festival. He is gearing up to direct this film, Mister Wonderful.
Growing up, Cole Knight has always looked up to superheroes, reading comics and looking up to characters like Batman and Superman. At the same time, growing up and becoming an adult opened Cole up to a lot of horrors and realities of the world, which he uses as inspiration for Mister Wonderful, who experiences a similar scenario. How do we find a purpose in this world? How do we actually make a change? Those are questions that Wyatt Watson begins to have as he finds himself as the world's first superhero under a tyrannical government.
Produced by Pat Segundo. Pat is a Virginia-based writer, director, and gaffer. Also currently studying Film Production at Shenandoah University. Pat has recently worked on the short films, CLD-9, Screech!!, and The Prowl. He's also directed and worked on music videos for Virginia based rappers Jordan Bloom and Trvnsit. The Impact
Art is not easy. Especially in a cinematic medium. This is not cheap. Your contribution means giving life to someone's passion project and a story full of heart and bold character. In this modern day climate, we need more heroes.
Risks & Challenges
We are worried about not being able to finish this project with the production value to accommodate it. But this is no stranger to us, as filmmakers you get used to working on a budget. We've been working in collaboration with Production Designer Grayson Miller and Cosplayer Ari Tasseny on Mister Wonderful's costume for months to get ahead for our shooting schedule.
