"Necessity is the mother of invention"-Some ancient proverb The Mizu Chef's Knife is our answer to a better, more affordable knife. Our cooking skills didn't warrant us to buy $150 knives, but we also knew that our $50 knives weren't cutting it. There are only so many squashed tomatoes and sawed pieces of meat that one can prepare before cooking starts becoming a chore. We leveraged our restaurant industry and manufacturing experience to bring you the ultimate chef's knife at a reasonable price.

Risks and Challenges

Our team has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry and with manufacturing. While we are confident that the production process will commence without any issues, nothing is ever guaranteed. Below are some of the problems that may arise.

Delay in Raw Material procurement - The material we are using is manufactured by a single factory in Japan. Although rare, there are instances where the demand for the material outpaces their supply and this could create an unforeseen delay. Fortunately for us, we've already contacted other manufactures that use VG10 and have the ability to purchase the raw material at a slightly higher price point if needed.

Delay in Manufacturing - The factory we are using has told us that they will provide us manufacturing capacity once we place the order. In reality, that's based on their pipeline today and we are not able to estimate any future pipeline additions from their other clients. The worst case would be an additional 1-2 month delay in our estimate delivery date. We will have a definitive answer on the production timeline once we successfully place our purchase order with the factory.

Delay in Testing - We are making it an emphasis to ensure our products are properly tested before shipping out. In the case that a quality issue does arise, we may need to redo certain batches.

Rest assured that we will have a team member monitoring the progress of the production during every stage. Regardless of what happens, we will guarantee that everyone will receive their knives!
