Hi my name is James Arndt and I'm a game developer based in Central Florida. You can view some of my prior work at www.jamesarndt3d.com
This is a pre-sale of my new Modular Race Track Kit designed by and for game developers. It's designed from the ground up with mobile optimization in mind, so it can be used within mobile phone projects, tablet projects and or PC/Mac. The kit itself is completed, so there is no gamble waiting for it to be delivered at a future date. Backers will get the download link to this project and all bonuses as soon as I receive the email.
I am also including a few bonuses in this kit. The first backer bonus includes a driveable vehicle (all scripts, models, prefabs) within a sample environment I've assembled. Secondly the kit will be delivered side-by-side with a full (16) vehicle car pack! See bottom of page for images.
You can see some imagery and details on what you get below.
If you'd like to drive through the sample track please check out this Unity webplayer for a web streaming demo of the included sample track and driveable car prefab:

The Modular Race Track Kit includes:
118 modular track building pieces. These include all sorts of bends, twists, angles and straights. There are (11) different types of trees to populate your tracks with. These trees are between 28 -36 triangles so you can really populate a forest if needed. Each track section averages about 200 polygons, and contains a custom collision mesh which averages about half the count of the art polygon density. The low poly buildings average about 70 - 120 polygons each. Smaller props like the starting gates, the light poles, tire barricades average about 60 - 110 polygons.
These assets utilize texture atlasing to ensure the developer isn't being wasteful with material usage and helping to keep draw calls down.
Below are some preview images of the sample track included in the project. I spent 20 minutes snapping together the modular pieces in Unity to create this.

Here are images within the Unity game engine showing the actual kit prefab pieces. (Right Click - Open Image in New Tab) option will allow you to view these images in their high resolution glory).
Here are some technical details on this kit:
- The 3D models are provided in FBX file format.
- Texture formats are TGA format and PSD Photoshop format.
- All 3D model pivot points are properly set to allow for modular snapping or grid snapping in your game engine.
- This kit also comes as a Unity Package file allowing for easy one button import into Unity.

Information on the (16) Low Poly Cars that come as a bonus to backers:
(These will be delivered within the same email that delivers the Modular Race Track Kit).

These vehicles each have (3) LODs.
I've included a single Unity Package file for Unity users, that will allow a one button import of all models, textures, materials, etc.
I've also included the source Maya .MB files, OBJ files and FBX files. These will allow you all to import them into just about any game engine imagineable.
The textures are in PSD format to allow for simple editing to customize these cars to your liking. Currently the car color (paint) is a single layer near the bottom of the PSD called Base Paint Layer. It uses a Color Overlay layer style to "color" that layer.
Here are some sample LOD polygon counts (for the full precise list of polygon counts for each vehicle please check this list:

NEW BONUS --Now included with this pack, is another full pack. The complete city pack! You'll get this entire pack alongside the Low Poly Car Pack + Modular Race Track Kit. This new pack will allow you to fully populate massive cities. These assets are meant to be versatile for both webplayer and mobile projects. They could be used for first person zombie apocalypse games, an overhead RTS-style game, a flight simulation/military aircraft combat game and my personal favorite - car racing games!
Currently the asset kit contains 155 unique elements. These are a combination of "clean" looking versions and "destroyed" or worn out versions. The textures are in PSD, PNG and TGA formats. They range in size from 128 x 128 pixels to 512 x 512 pixels. The 3d models are FBX file format.
