This short film is designed to challenge preconceived ideas about the economy and the way things 'should' be. By transporting the main character into a future time zone, he encounters new ways of organising society. Humour ensues with the culture clash, or 'time-clash.' This new society has based itself on the current day board game of Monopoly. This script is about imagination, a better world, and the realm of possibilities. Art rarely addresses economic issues in an informed manner, and this is a chance to change that. When the worlds of art and economics come together, change can happen by engaging emotionally and mentally with global issues.
This film was inspired by Social Credit values and ideas, and such films/series as "Doctor Who," "What Women Want" with Mel Gibson, "Thirteen going Thirty," "Narnia," "Kate and Leopold" with Hugh Jackman, and others.
The script adviser is Dr. Oliver Heydorn, Ph.D. in Philosophy, summa cum laude from the International Academy of Philosophy (Liechtenstein).
The Plot:
Steve is living in poverty, weighed down by bills he can't pay. Whether in a dream or through a car accident placing him in a coma for many years or drinking a potion that shoots him into the future, he suddenly 'comes to' in a hospital bed. Speaking with the doctor and nurse, he concludes that the doctor and nurse are insane; but another patient thinks they are normal. Even the TV shows confirm that what the doctor and nurse what are saying is true. He realizes he is in a new time zone with a completely different approach to money...at the end, he returns to current times.
