Thank you for visiting our Indiegogo campaign! My name is Joshua Brucker, writer and director of MOTHMAN.

We're excited to bring you a haunting mystery surrounding the famed Mothman legend in the style of found footage horror. If you are familiar with modern American folklore, you have heard of Mothman. He is an unidentifiable winged creature, an ominous presence, and its glowing, mesmerizing red eyes are its calling card. With its presence comes misery as the creature is said to be a harbinger of doom. Ever since my family and I visited Point Pleasant the summer of 2020, I've wanted to make a film exploring the legend. I believe it's time to do just that! It's time to make an awesome film!

Filming Locations

Many of our location shots will include personal homes, places of business, and the Logan Police Department and the Logan Fire Station.

We will film most of our exteriors throughout Hocking Hills State Park and the Under The Stars Campground.

One location we are using will be the Moonville Tunnel! Adding some mystery and eeriness to our film.

And of course, your favorite Mothman statue will make an appearance! What's a movie about Mothman without a little Point Pleasant, WV?

Our Production Hub, will also house actors and crew that are traveling long distances. Also, the property surrounding the cabin will be used for our exterior shots.

About the Production

We have hired an amazingly talented cinematographer by the name of Jake Robinson. He is an ace behind the camera and we feel he will capture this film the way it is intended. He works with a Z Cam E2-M4. 

We will film in Southern Ohio in order to capture our interior and exterior shots. We will also film portions in Point Pleasant, West Virginia - Home of the MOTHMAN!

Our crew will consist of our cinematographer, an assistant director, a lighting specialist, two production assistants, two make up artists, a creature effects specialist, a behind-the-scenes photographer and videographer, and myself.

We are asking for $3,000 in funding to make our feature film. We plan to film in May if scheduling and weather allows. All proceeds raised will go directly to actor and crew compensation, location fees, equipment rental, lodging and food services, post production work and Indiegogo perk fulfillments.

We plan to submit the film to the following festivals, provided they are still accepting submissions. We will also seek digital streaming platforms such as Vudu, Amazon, and Tubi. We will also seek physical media distribution in the form of DVD and Blu-Ray.
