Our Campaign:
We are developing a Real World FPS Laser tag experience to bring the love of video games outdoors. Utilizing augmented reality and Motorola’s Moto Mods platform, we give our players the ability to make the world their arena! Through full integration with your Moto Mods Enabled Phone and integration with social media sites such as Facebook and Google+, players will be able to set up and join games, invite players, and more. Our LaserCore Controller is completely customizable. Players will be able to mix and match components on their LaserCore gun to achieve a personalized look.
LaserCore is inspired by our love for paintball, video games, and emerging mobile technologies. We’ve drawn a lot of inspiration and knowledge from operating a successful New England Paintball business. Through the years, we’ve met hundreds of people who want to get into Paintball, but get discouraged due to the cost of playing, or the fear of getting hurt. LaserCore allows players to play on their terms; anywhere, anytime, and without the painful hits to both your wallet and body. We love seeing people of all ages getting excited about a sport or a game where they can be creative and be with friends at the same time. That is our vision for LaserCore.

LaserCore…and the World:
Our project comes from the love of new and exciting outdoor activities with friends and family. We are all gamers, but want to be free and untethered to play wherever and whenever! We also like seeing people being able to customize, mix and match, and tweak their equipment to make it their own without spending a ton of money. We want to take what we loved about laser tag and paintball when we were kids and make it explode with new life, in new environments for new…and old players. Family time, friend hangouts, company retreats, LaserCore can be the life of the party!

Risks & Challenges
Risks and challenges are a natural part of any adventure, and it takes an experienced adventurer to be able to surmount them. All current members have, at one time or another owned and operated their own business. Also, working in the technical service industry, we all understand the customer comes first and at the end of the day “It Must Work”. A combination of working with the public as well as overcoming various technical, creative, and personal challenges makes us the ideal team to work through any issue.
Challenges
Manufacturing: Cost and logistics of manufacturing can be daunting. We have hands on experience and a modular design for our equipment, which will help drive down costs.
Usability of Equipment: As we go through development and testing, the usability of our equipment as well as the program will be a top priority. We will overcome this challenge by vigorous testing by our developers and everyday users. We will be paying attention to user feedback and ensuring the equipment and UI is fun and easy to use, even for the most novice of players.
User Feedback Analysis: Feedback from our valued customers is what will keep the product fresh, efficient, and desirable. Analyzing constructive feedback will be instrumental to adapting our project for the better.
Lower amount of Data Charge(s): It will be a focus to keep data costs low for users who have data plans. Keeping code simple using web sockets will help to address this issue.
Risks:
Marketing Strategies: Since this is a new type of game that is not widely available, marketing strategy will also be new and untested. Our current plan is to follow the popularity of similar games that utilize augmented reality and target those customers.
Additional Equipment Purchase needed for play: Since there is no base-play model, users will need to spend additional money on the equipment. We will keep additional costs low by offering various models of additional equipment.
Other Ways You Can Help
