About us
We are a committee dedicated to seeing that the controversial and discriminatory motorcycle only noise bylaw enacted June 9, 2010 in Edmonton is either expanded to include all forms of vehicles or repealed until it can be applied equally to all. We feel it goes against the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms which states clearly we have the right to be held to and protected by the same laws equally and without discrimination.
Why are other forms of vehicles allowed to commit the same infraction without receiving the same penalties? Why did City Council feel it was necessary to target one group of people when there were already sufficient noise laws in existence?
All information stated on our website is information that could be found by any person in the general public. All research has been conducted in a professional manner.
We continue to thank all of the supporters - both from the riding and non-riding community. We invite anyone with questions to please email our general email or join our facebook group (Edmonton Motorcycle Club)

Some MORE background
In June of 2010, the City of Edmonton enacted the first motorcycle only noise bylaw in Canada. Since that time, a dedicated group of motorcyclists have been trying to work with the City in an effort to regain equality in excessive vehicle noise laws. Currently motorcycles are subjected to different regulations, enforcement and fines. Although we believe there are those that warrant a fine for excessively loud motorcycles, this issue is not limited to our community.
Because we believe in equal law for excessive noise, we will soon be in Provincial court supporting one of our own in our first challenge against the bylaw itself. Our goal is to either have the motorcycle only noise bylaw expanded to include all forms of passenger vehicles or have the bylaw rescinded and excessive noise dealt with under the Provincial Traffic Safety Act (TSA). We want the best outcome for all of the citizens of Edmonton. There are other benefits to returning to the use of the TSA that could lead to effectively dealing with the noise issue that cannot be done under a municipal bylaw.
To prepare for the costs that our community will incur during this process, we are holding this fundraiser with possible future dates as well. We will require at minimum legal advice along the way, if not legal representation depending on how the case proceeds. As with any long standing tradition in the motorcycle community, any and all monies not used in this case will be donated to charity.
We thank you for your support in the fight for equality in laws.
