Thanks ya'll......
For giving me this opportunity to stand on my soap box for the next 48 days.
Boy oh boy do I have a tale to tell! If there has ever been a man who's story should be told, well that would be Jack Daniel......This is his story.
Mr. Daniel is cheeky romp through his highs and lows, and the general mischief he would get up to in his journey to becoming one of America's greatest entrepreneurs and legendary whiskey makers.
JACK'S VOICE......
Jack's back and he's been silent too long - hanging out behind that ol' black label all these years ('bout 150 years to be exact.) This feature film gives Jack a voice. It's also a glimpse through a window to an easier time, where square shooters were prevalent and a man's handshake actually meant something.
Mr. Daniel will take you on a ride like you've never seen before. I reckon every man leaving the theater will wish he was Jack Daniel and by golly the woman by his side will wish he was too! We take you from his first breath of scotch whiskey, to his own humble beginnings in the art of distilling, to his last sip of his finest achievement. Along the way you'll meet some other memorable characters from history and discover why Jack was also quite the ladies' man.
So jump on board!
ABOUT ME.......
Well folks I'm a house painter and chef.....I tend to dabble in different things to keep me interested; you see being a painter gives you time to think. I never set out to write a screenplay nor would have ever dreamed of doing something like this.
I had the pleasure of helping to restoring the historic homestead (Collendina) here in Australia a couple of years ago. Staying in the original cabins (1843) I found - having limited internet, no television but just the wireless - it was the perfect opportunity to take a look into the life of ol' Jack. The more I looked, the more fascinated I became!
Over the course of a year and a half I wrote the screenplay after work (often very late into the night fighting off little critters that nearly drove me insane at times.) But with the help of Jack Daniel the words poured out of my head like the smoothest Tennessee honey.
I hope, like me, you'll find that Jack is so much more than the man on the label.
I am very grateful for your support.
Charlie.
