After more than a year of working with web technologies in Nigeria and seeing the growth of our IT industry in this part of the world, I wish to return to academia and undertake graduate studies in Computer Science at the University of Oxford (which ranks 3rd in the world for CS at the time of writing). This is vital as undertaking this course would boost my abilities as a software engineer and the knowledge which would be acquired will also prepare me toward becoming an information security expert so that I could tackle the growing concerns of software security in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

As a graduate with the best result in my faculty at the University of Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria, with a CGPA of 6.5/7.0, there is an urge to improve on my computer science foundation and gather more practical experience. This is utmost because I want to be a part of the driving forces that takes our local IT infrastructure to the next level. I have loved every minute of work, from system analysis to designing modules that optimise and aid current systems. I love problem solving so much and it has been proven that with more hands-on experience, the better one gets at problem solving. In line with this, I have been seeking ways to improve, increase and master my current skill set.

I am a good-natured person who loves to swim and watch movies. I get elated when I am to give tutorials on Computer Science courses as it helps me share information with colleagues. In my spare time, I enjoy solving programming challenges on Hackerrank and Codility. I also schedule algorithm classes for young programmers. Recently, the set of students I tutored were able to outstand their local counterparts at IEEE Xtreme 8.0.

I have been able to secure a place at the University of Oxford for my MSc in computer science for the 2015/2016 academic session. I plead with you to kindly aid me in making this dream a reality.
