About The Book
This book is meant to be a gallery of 200 unique and very detailed fungi photos paired with an approximate or precise species identification in multiple languages. Contrary to a traditional atlas, this is an artwork focused on showing the visual beauty and diversity of mushrooms. Step-by-step, it took 4 years to build this collection of photos and translated names of the species.

About The Author
My name is Lukas, and I work as a software engineer. Since the summer of 2020, I have dedicated most of my free time to forests and fungi. Whenever I can, I take my camera and my mushroom basket for another outdoor adventure.
Since my childhood, I liked to view mushroom books we had at home, and I was always very excited when I found some fungi during our family hiking or mushroom hunting trips. When I got older, I also started to explore digital photography and got fascinated especially by closeup and macro. Then, one day, my hobbies in hiking, photography, and mushrooms joined into this one great passion in taking pictures and making videos of fungi.

About Fungi
Some time ago, these fascinating organisms got separated into their own kingdom. They play a very important role in the ecosystem, and are also getting popular among the population. There is more and more knowledge getting discovered, and I personally believe we still have a lot to learn about them. Various species have different properties. For example, some can have a positive impact on human health while some others are poisonous. My mission here is to publish visual content dedicated purely to fungi and help people discover this interesting world.

About Luke's Mushrooms
This project is focused on fungi only and can be found on several social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), or Threads. Through these channels, my content gets regularly published to thousands of followers. While the videos are mainly focused on mushroom hunting, the other channels are more about fungi pictures. There is an intersection though, which helps to blend these two areas.
