The Story
My Best Friend follows Josh, a college sophomore, as he reconnects with his estranged best friend from High School, Eddie. Through memories we learn what happened to their friendship as they navigated Eddie's coming out, and Josh's first kiss with a girl. In a rural town, where everyone knows everything, is it more important to protect your friend or protect yourself? Is it important to fit in or to stand out?

WHY IS THIS FILM IMPORTANT?
The creation of this film took some time, it stems from a very personal issue of self discovery that I faced in High school. I didn't know who I loved or why I loved the people I did and not others. When growing up it can be hard to come to terms with what love means to you, and how you explain it to others and yourself.
This film challenges the idea that you need to know who you are before you can love someone else. You don't need to know if you're gay, straight or bi, because in reality everyone's story to finding who they are attracted to is different. And it happens at different times, in different places. I wish I'd known this, and I wish this film existed when I was coming to terms with my sexuality.
Hopefully this film will touch someone struggling, and encourage them to keep going.

RISKS + CHALLENGES
Producing a film is a difficult journey. There are a lot of moving pieces that need to work cohesively in order to create something great. This film should have a small footprint, with a good amount of interior scenes in apartments. The challenges we will face, are gaining permits for exterior shots, holding crew and equipment long enough to finish filming.
With your help these challenges will be lessened :)
THANK YOU!
To show my appreciation I have created rewards for your contributions to the film! My wonderful crew and I will be giving this project everything we can with whatever we have. The finished film will be submitted to festivals, and not only will you be able to see yourself in the credits, but know that you played a crucial role in getting us there.
If you aren't able to donate, there are always other ways to support the project- you can share this campaign via Facebook, Twitter, any other form and spread the word about this film to as many people as possible!
