Hello, I'm Jon Ellison, a filmmaker from Leicester. I studied filmmaking at The University of Northampton and earned a master's in Creative Writing from De Montfort University. Despite facing challenges with Asperger's Syndrome, I've achieved awards, including one for Achievement in Writing in 2017.
I'm launching a campaign on Indiegogo for a short documentary about the impact of lockdown, particularly on mental health. The documentary will feature personal stories, subtle humour, and interviews with medical experts. I aim to raise the target for crew expenses, festival submissions, and travel costs to interview a family in Gloucestershire who lost a young man to suicide during lockdown.
The funds will help create a compelling documentary that delves into different perspectives on lockdown, offering contributors a chance to empathize with diverse experiences. My previous works include an award-winning local film and sound production for feature films like "A Kidnap," (Greenhough Films) "The Mummy: Resurrection," and "Rippers Revenge" (both produced by Creativ Studios). Each time, I have worked with an amazing and dedicated cast and crew.
I understand the risks and challenges, such as the need for sensitivity in interviews and contingency plans for outdoor shoots. We prioritize interviewee comfort, offering video calls if preferred, and ensuring privacy protection.
Even if you can't contribute financially, spreading the word on social media or through word-of-mouth would be immensely appreciated. Together, let's make this documentary a reality! Thank you for your support.
