My Name is Frank Wilgus I am a 200hr RYT and half way through my 500 hr - therapy YTT. OK, so that's "registered yoga teacher" and "yoga teacher training." I earned my 200 hr in July of 2012 and was invited to come back to the 500 hr which is also coupled with yoga therapy. So when all is said and done that's about 3 yrs worth of study. Yes, yoga is a lot of study. My school is based in Columbus Ohio. Shiva Shakti Synthesis has been around for years and is quite respected in the Yoga comunity. It has ties with the Center for Wholeness, which is a non profit organization that is a comunity based outreach.

My project funding will be going towards my 3 internships. I have a small studio in my home which fits about six people. My areas of internship will be - 1 Lupus. I have taught yoga at regional gatherings and have studied the diseases. 2. Diabetes. I happen to have diabetes and know what an impact yoga has had in my life. 3. PTSD. So many suffer from PTSD. Our war veterans, police and firemen to name a few. My personal story is one of my cousin. Retired after 33 years of being a firefighter. He suffered from PTSD and a year ago took his own life. In each of the issues yoga can be of great benefit to those who suffer. The mind, body and spirit is affected in each case. Breath, physical postures and meditation will be a few of the aspects of yoga I will include in the practices. Each student will be monitered in the attributes of the issues. We will be checking glucose levels in the diabetic groups for example.

the fund will go specifically for " yoga props" -  bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets and mats at the least. The props are use to help those that might be limited in the physical nature of yoga and to support the various aspects of a yoga practice. Some poses are better supported with props and in the case of restorative yoga props are a necessity.

My goal for the future of my teachings is to help those in need. I could teach exercise but there are so many attribute of yoga that I believe in that can heal. To reach those that could benefit in having healthier lives and ens suffering is where I want to go with what I teach.

I really don't have anything to give in the way of perks for your donations. Everything I do is free of charge. Its a start for me to get my future goals aligned and to try to help others. I appreciate anything that you donate.

Thanks!

Frank
