The Story
Narc is an action-comedy that follows Colin Travers who finds himself working on the eve of his 18th birthday. Like most teenagers, he’s pretty bummed about it. However, unlike most teenagers, he has a unique job: he’s a youth-tobacco inspector. Since Colin will no longer be underage when he turns 18, this is his last shift as a cigarette narc. His handler Rodney tries to get him to savor the moment but as always Colin brushes him off. As they pull into their last stop, a hole-in-the-wall convenience store, none of them are prepared for what will unfold.
The Support
Making a short film can be expensive. Since we’re filming on location at independent convenience stores in Massachusetts, the majority of our budget will pay for the use of those locations and the transportation of our cast and crew to these locations. We’ve also dedicated a significant portion of our budget to paying professional actors and securing the best camera equipment.
The Team
Josh Gorman, Writer & Director knew he wanted to be a filmmaker since he was in the third grade. Forging stop-motion films out of clay provided a deep sense of appreciation for all aspects of the craft, but his true love is directing and has produced several original short films to show for it. He can’t wait to get to work on this high-caliber short film with an amazing team.
Lauren Marie Miller, Producer is excited to be bringing this film to life. She’s produced and associate produced many short films that have found audiences both online and at film festivals. She enjoys the fast-paced, problem-solving environment of filmmaking and this is a particularly fun challenge.
Eitan Miller, Cinematographer is thrilled to be working on this project. He has worked in many types of production, from narrative films to music videos to commercial work. His short films have screened at film festivals internationally. His favorite part about DPing is finding the best way to translate each individual story into a unique visual style, and Eitan can't wait to help bring this story to life.
