Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund - Gettysburg
Dear all,
Most of you know - Nepal is my home, and a devastating earthquake hit Nepal on Saturday, April 25 that has left its people in despair and the whole country in shambles. The death toll is now over 7,500, and we are still counting. Thousands of people are injured and hundreds of thousands are left homeless. My parents, who still live there, are safe and accounted for, but being away from home during these difficult times has not been easy.
My good friend Asnika, who is also from Nepal and a Gettysburg College graduate, is going home in May. With the money we raise, she will be able to take supplies, such as water filtration tablets and basic medicines, as well as additional money to buy whatever else is needed. We have been closely monitoring different relief groups via various media outlets, and have a good idea of who to work with to get the supplies where they are needed most. We will update you on our progress as we go – how we spend each dollar you contribute, and where.
I cannot think of a better way to contribute to the relief of fellow Nepalis at the moment, and we hope you will donate generously if you are able. Your smallest contribution means a lot to me and my people. Thank you for your support.
Rennie
