Synopsis
A Commune of elderly people abandoned from society deals with the death of one of it's members.
Take a look through their eyes as they follow the daily routine while taking care of the deceased one.

The importance of making 'NEPENTHE' happen is not just fulfilling our artistic needs, it is about bringing the major issue of abandonment of the elderly into public attention! The art of cinema can be used to achieve heightened sensibility and raise the awareness of the world towards this cause! That's why your support is of great importance not only for us and the entire 'NEPENTHE' film project but for those in need.
WHAT WILL YOUR MONEY BE SPENT ON
As
we are all working for free towards realizing Nepenthe, we will not be
spending your money on cast or crew. All of your contributions will go
into bringing this film to life through those ways:

Equipment – To be able to imprint the images we have in our heads
into the film we need the proper equipment that unfortunately is very
expensive to rent. Such equipment varies from a good camera to filter kits and lenses that will give us the ability to give the atmosphere we want to the film.

Production Design & Props -
The basic substance of our atmosphere will be created by the props that
surround it. It is essential for our film to have a whole lot of props
and furniture, as it is the major factor towards the visualization of
the film.

Transport expenses - We will
need vehicles for the transportation of heavy equipment, props and 20+ crew members back
and forth from our houses to the set for each day of shooting. We
also need to rent a bus that will transport 50 casting members to the external shooting
location, 60 km from Athens.

Food -
We need to feed our whole crew (30+ crew and cast) for the duration of
the shooting. Friends and family have been volunteered to cook in order to minimize that
cost.

Stairs scene + Taking care of the Extras - We need a large number of extras for this specific scene of the film. These extras will need to be fed, watered and transported to and from the shooting location.

Promotion –
Spreading the word is of outmost importance. Funding for promotion will
create the possibility for us to expose the film in a broader audience.
As most film festivals have submission fees, your money will be used in
order to cover those fees, helping us show our hard work and your
support, which will eventually bring Nepenthe to reality.
The Great Impact of your support!
As mentioned above we believe that the importance of the realization of
'NEPENTHE' film is in making a means to help the elderly people that face struggle against abandonment, poverty and depravation due to the social and economical crisis here in Greece. For that reason 10% of the gathered funds of our campaign will be donated to the
'Home for the bedridden' charitable foundation!
