New Work By Jeremy Galdeano
Jeremy Galdeano is a Soloist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal. This French born artist has worked with some of the most influential choreographers in the world of classical and contemporary dance, including Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek, Stijn Celis and Didy Veldman to name a few. Throughout his continuing career as a dancer he has researched his own style of movement and creation leading him to the realization that choreography is a calling for him. At Les Grands, he has had the opportunity to investigate that calling with an annual workshop put on by the dancers for them to produce, choreograph and dance in a production that is all their own. In the latest edition of this workshop, Jeremy created his biggest piece so far, On The Nature of Daylight, which garnered him an invitation to create a new work for an evening showcasing emerging choreographers. Alongside 2 other artists, Jeremy will create a new 15-20 minute piece to be presented in Montreal's Festival Transalantique this September.
Mr. Galdeano will begin working this June with 2 beautiful accomplished dancers on a new duet about the intimacy of everyday life and how our relationships affect our souls. It will be many hours of intense research on movement, musicality, emotion and growth. Jeremy and his 2 dancers will take a journey together discovering life throughout the art of dance and in turn will share with us their discoveries.
Since this project is the first time Jeremy will be working on something as an independent choreographer, free from the support of Les Grands Ballets, he needs your help. The budget alotted to him for the whole project is minimal and will only go so far. With your donation, you will help pay for the costs of studio rental, music liscensing, costumes and small salaries for the dancers he will be creating on.
