In less than 30 hours the concept of ACTING as a HEALING ART solidifies.
Kripalu and New Theatre are linking up to do a staged reading about an actress who has just been cast in the role of HAMLET and yet she has a BLOCK. The question of to BE or not to BE hits on many levels and as we follow the actress through her journey. We hope to express how understanding ones self is of utmost importance when choosing your roles both on and off stage.
Much love

South Florida's Hit Play Women Playing Hamlet is headed to Kripalu in the Berkshires!
A new twist on Hamlet will heat up the Berkshires this summer at a first-of-its-kind event
uniting South Florida’s New Theatre, the leader in developing new voices for the stage along
with Susie K. Taylor, to Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, one of the country’s most famous
Yoga institutes. Set for August 12, 2015, at 7:30 pm, the educational and entertaining evening
will feature a staged reading and talk back of William Missouri Downs’ fun loving and profound
comedy Women Playing Hamlet, which had its National New Play Network’s Rolling Premiere
at New Theatre to rave reviews.
Christine Dolen of The Miami Herald called Women Playing Hamlet “engaging” and “graceful”
and
Bill Hirschman of FloridaTheatreOnStage noted it as “a very funny play...digs deeply into
that alchemical process when an actor draws on their own life experience to create a creature
nearly impossible to discern as a character in a play on a stage.”
Linking South Florida’s New Theatre and Susie K. Taylor with the Berkshire’s Kripalu is sure to BE an exciting and unforgettable evening!
REUNITING the Brilliant director Ricky J. Martinez with the stellar ALL FEMALE cast in the Berkshires?
To be or not to be ......That is the question?
