Can You Believe Most Americans STILL Have Never Heard of Nikola Tesla?!?!

...Even after the internet rallied to save his last lab on the planet, thanks to Matthew Inman (the Oatmeal) and his amazing crowd funding campaign, Nikola Tesla's contributions are still largely unknown by vast parts of the U.S. culture. Tesla's struggle to help humanity, and the grateful world coming together to help save his lab site (using technology he helped develop) is an inspirational story of unity and perseverance.  We felt this was an incredible human drama that spanned generations to correct a past injustice. And so,  to honor Tesla and all that helped save his lab, we created a documentary called "TOWER TO THE PEOPLE-Tesla's Dream at Wardenclyffe Continues."

The Documentary:

• "TOWER TO THE PEOPLE” is  about the past, present and future of Nikola Tesla’s  Wardenclyffe lab, a site from which the genius inventor dreamed of sending FREE wireless energy to the entire earth.
• It features interviews with celebrity magician Penn Jillette, the Oatmeal's Matthew Inman, Tesla's grandnephew William Terbo, and Peabody Award-Winner Jack Hitt as well as some of the most respected names in the Tesla community.
• The results of new research create the most comprehensive view of historic Wardenclyffe to date.
• Through support by the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade, the film includes rare photographs never viewed beyond the elite collection of the Belgrade archives. Iconic Tesla imagery is also beautifully restored and in a resolution never seen before.
• The film chronicles the first ever Ground Penetrating Radar investigation into the mysterious Wardenclyffe tunnels, the existence of which has been a long-standing subject of controversy.

Our Journey:

Our journey to help raise awareness of Nikola Tesla, to continue his research, and to support efforts to preserve his Wardenclyffe laboratory, has been almost fifteen years now. Throughout, we expended most of our time, money and resources. We finished “TOWER TO THE PEOPLE” on credit cards and a laptop. And even though the film itself is complete, the cost of getting it out there is a whole other issue.

People have been overwhelming in their support since our Sneak Preview screening at the New Yorker Hotel (which was attended by such esteemed guests as Director Jim Jarmusch, Artist Robert Wilson, and the Consulate General for the Republic of Serbia). The most common question we get  is “When can I buy the dvd?” Sadly, production debt and additional costs for encoding, authoring, packaging and the actual creation of dvds/blurays makes the idea beyond our reach. But you can help us move forward with our mission of Tesla vindication.

It wasn’t the Hollywood system, corporate world, or political power brokers that saved Tesla’s Wardenclyffe lab from the chopping block. It was YOU. One click at a time! 

By pre-ordering the film or just supporting our cause, you will help us tell YOUR story… of how the world came together to save the last site of a nearly forgotten inventor’s dream. It is a beautiful story of unity, altruism and vindication. In other words, it was what Tesla wished to achieve at Wardenclyffe. And you made it happen!

Other benefits from this campaign may help us cover the costs with preparing the film for potential broadcast-  allowing for additional editing, format conversions, closed-captioning, legal, marketing and many other expenses.

We’d also like “TOWER TO THE PEOPLE” to be more accessible to screen theatrically or participate in festivals. For this, a costly DCP(s)(digital cinema package) that conforms to various specifications needs to be created.

The most important mission of “TOWER TO THE PEOPLE” is to help the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe reach its goal of refurbishing the Stanford White-designed laboratory and ultimately open the doors to a world-class science museum.

To help in that mission, we’ve created some great perks to help reach stretch goals that will unlock cash donations to the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe! You saved it, now you can help restore it!

Oscar, meet Nikola...

And with another special stretch goal, we’d like to make history together. We would LOVE to make sure that  Hollywood is aware of Nikola Tesla and the people committed to preserving his legacy (you!). How do you say? By making this independent Tesla documentary eligible for an Academy Award Nomination. The goal here is not really to achieve an actual nomination, but to be eligible for one and thus, considered by the Academy. This would be a unique public relations/awareness opportunity not only for the film and Wardenclyffe, but for the whole Tesla movement in general. However, eligibility normally requires studio backing, since among the costly requirements are demands that a film have a week long theatrical run in both NYC and LA. If the final stretch goal is unlocked, we will rent theatrical venues, comply with all other regulations, and submit Tesla to Hollywood! We will coordinate this with a public relations campaign to bring more attention to Tesla’s contributions and the Wardenclyffe site. It would be another crowd funding first!

Featured perks, like the TESLA'S DREAM package, include a magnificent 3d laser-engraved etching of WARDENCLYFFE TOWER in a beautifully detailed crystal collectible! The LED light-up crystal base is not only energy efficient (Tesla would certainly approve!) but octagon shaped... just like the actual base!  This is the ONLY collectible of Wardenclyffe Tower in existence with an accurate depiction of the cupola. The tower crystal is 4" x 2" x "2 and the light-up base is 1-1/4 high x 3" wide. You just have to see this magnificent treasure in person! So lifelike you may expect it to transmit wireless electricity! Check out the video above, but be aware that the base does NOT rotate.

Risks & Challenges

Because the film is completed, the production of DVD's &  Bluray's is the easy part to implement once the campaign is funded. Should the campaign be an overwhelming success, it's possible that short term challenges may occur in regards to fulfillment speeds and shipping times. It's probably no surprise to the Tesla community to know that in addition to our great team, we already have had many volunteers offer up their services to help fulfill orders :) !
