Overview
On May 22nd, Nine Dot Gallery will implement its first Artist, Research, and Trade (A.R.T.) Program. With your help we can support local artists, foster cultural exchange, and expand our creative community. Our first site will be in Vietnam; and for 7 weeks we will be hosting workshops with local artist communities on material studies, cultural equity, and creative place making. Consider funding us and making art more connective!

Hi Folks,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. My brothers and I opened the doors of Nine Dot Gallery in Worcester, MA in 2015. Our mission was to create a space that would be a real resource in supporting our creative community. Fast-forward to over 50 events, 24 exhibitions, and one relocation later we now share space with the Southeast Asian Coalition of Central Massachusetts. This move ushered a more social justice focus in collaboration with our refugee and immigrant artist and maker community.

On The Go

To facilitate more cultural exchange, we have decided to pay it forward. On May 22nd, we will be in Vietnam setting up an art exchange that we hope to transform into a residency. Nine Dot Gallery is the little engine that could, and with your help we can. We have our tickets and enough capital to do a bare bones trip. But we want to leave a larger impact. With your contributions we will be able to host workshops in Hanoi, Saigon, and Can Tho. These workshops will be on the topics of material studies, creative placemaking, and cultural equity.

Back home

Through out our exchanges in Vietnam we will be putting together an artist roster for our returning exhibition in Worcester, Ma. The show will feature works paired from our local community highlighting the cultural connection made in our travels.  We'll also have the pleasure to introduce Worcester Art Museum's first artist in resident.

Comes with fries

Along with our creative mission, this year we will be helping Youth Effect International with their humanitarian efforts in 2 remote locations: Hop Tien Village, a refuge for victims of human trafficking, and Chua Buu Tri orphanage, a safe space that supports homeless children from ages 2-18. We'll be delivering basic everyday goods that any human would need. These goods are things such as hygiene products, clothing, and school supplies.

Together

Setting up the platform for this cultural exchange will be demanding with our skeleton crew. The programming, implementing and documentation are all full-time affairs, respectively. But with your help we'll be able to maximize our impact, support local artists, and grow our creative community. Without your funding we won't be able to reach all of the planned sites to create points of collaboration. Flexibility is everything and if we can't reach our goal we'll have to scale down our footprint. It's with your support we will be able to create cultural and artistic exchange between countries.

Help us connect the dots

Please consider funding our project. We know everyone can't contribute financially. But collectively we can share and spread the word. Thanks so much for your efforts and making art connective!
