Meine Schwester Sara Najafi macht
Musik seit dem sie vier Jahre alt ist. Ich habe direkt erlebt wie sie täglich
die Herausforderungen einer weiblichen Musikerin im Iran bewältigen musste,
noch dazu als erste Komponistin mit Diplom.
In NO LAND`S SONG zeige ich mit welchen Schwierigkeiten iranische Musikerinnen heutzutage zu kämpfen haben und wie Sara sich mutig und unbeirrbar dagegen wehrt.

Seit der Revolution von 1979 ist es Frauen im Iran verboten
öffentlich solo zu singen – zumindest vor einem Publikum in dem auch Männer sitzen.
Sara widersetzt sich der Zensur und den
Tabus und ist fest entschlossen in ihrer Heimatstadt Teheran ein öffentliches Konzert mit weiblichen Solosängerinnen zu organisieren. Um
sich Unterstützung für diese große Herausforderung zu holen, laden Sara
und die iranischen Sängerinnen Parvin Namazi und Sayeh Sodeyfi drei
Sängerinnen aus Paris ein: Emel
Mathlouthi, Jeanne Cherhal und Elise Caron.
Mit dem Konzert in Teheran wird ein Traum Wirklichkeit - die Wiederentdeckung und das Feiern der weiblichen Stimme in der persischen Kultur.

Wieso diese Crowdfunding - Kampagne
Mein Produktionsteam und ich haben für den Film nur eine sehr geringe Förderung bekommen und bereits privates Geld investiert. Trotz der vielen Auszeichnungen und großartigen Kritiken sind unsere finanziellen Mittel zu gering, um den Kinostart in
Deutschland am 10. März wirkungsvoll zu kommunizieren.

My name is Ayat Najafi, I am director and documentary film maker.
I was born and raised in Teheran and am living in Berlin at the moment.

My sister Sara Najafi makes music since the age of four. I experienced directly how she had to deal with the challenges of being a female musician in Iran, and the first woman to get a diploma of composition.
In NO LAND`S SONG I show with which difficulties female musicians in Iran have to struggle and how brave and enduring Sara fights against them.

Ever since the 1979 Islamic revolution, women have been prohibited from singing solo public performances – at least in front of men.
Defying censorship and taboos, Sara is determined to organize a public concert with solo female singers in her hometown Tehran.
As support for this big challenge, Sara and the iranian female singers Parvin Namazi and Sayeh Sodeyfi invite three female singers from Paris: Emel Mathlouthi, Jeanne Cherhal and Elise Caron.
The concert in Tehran is a dream come true - the rediscovery and the celebration of the female voice in the rich Persian culture.

Why this crowdfunding - campaign?
My production team and I got very low financial support for the movie and already invested private money. Despite all the awards and good press, our budget is too small to promote the release of the film in Germany on the 10th of March in an effective way.
