Lights. Camera. Access! (LCA)

Noel Calloway Films is a New York based production company created by Harlem natives Noel Calloway and George Bibb.  The company's first film "Life Love Soul" won the prestigious Audience Award at the 2011 Urbanworld film festival and was released in select theaters in April 2012.

The company has created Lights. Camera. Access! a workshop series designed to expose young people, ages 11-19, to the film business from the inside out.  Noel Calloway, writer/director/producer of "Life, Love, Soul," also has an extensive background in youth services.  Having worked for the YMCA of Greater NY, Phipps Community Development Corporation, and other community based organizations as Youth and Teen Director, Noel clearly sees the importance of contributing to the communities from which he's come.  The program he's created will teach young people every aspect of film making, including writing the script, lighting the set, editing, wardrobe, makeup, producing, etc.  With the help of industry professionals, LCA will afford the students in the program the opportunity to make their own short or documentary film.  The eight week program culminates with the red carpet premiere of the student films.

We aim to offer the program, free of charge, in community centers and/or schools where the students may not otherwise have exposure to the film business.

What We Need & What You Get

We need twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000) to run the program effectively at two (2) locations for a full semester, September through December 2012.

All contributors, big or small, will receive on screen credit on the student projects as "Associate Producers."  All contributors will receive a downloadable version of the students' film projects complete with behind the scenes, "making of" footage from the class sessions.  Anyone contributing more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) will receive credit as a producer and a DVD/Blu Ray copy of the film.

The Impact

By exposing students to the film business from the inside out, students will learn the basic skills necessary to create a film.  Students will walk away from the program having been exposed to every aspect of film making, meeting industry professionals in very important but rarely recognized positions on a film set.  Students will learn of the many careers in film that they may have an interest in.

Seeing their work culminate with the production of an actual film, to be viewed and celebrated by their friends and family, will be an invaluable experience for the students of the program.  Each student will walk away with a package including an official DVD of their work, an LCA T shirt, a 40-50 page workbook complete with overviews of every section of the program and the priceless experience of making their own film.
