Why No Frills?

While I love making meticulously crafted, beautifully designed toys, those take a lot of time and effort, which costs money. One of the biggest barriers to getting safe, quality toys is cost. I want to break that barrier, and have used my years of experience in sex toy design to do just that.

• A Funkit Toy can take weeks to months of squinting, fiddling, testing, and swearing to make. NoFrillDos took a day each.
• Funkit's clear silicone is expensive, and takes 24 hours to cure. NoFrillDo uses an inexpensive platinum silicone (for platinum silicone, anyway, there's still platinum in it) that cures in half an hour.
• Each NoFrillDo mold is designed and 3D printed for easy toy extraction, meaning I can make more, faster. No fiddling with mold release agents, just pour in and pop out.

NoFrillDo is the "Cup Ramen with Veggies and an Egg" of dildos. If you can afford a fancier dildo, support the creation of fancier dildos. It's worth it. If not, though? I think you should be able to buy a safe, non-toxic sex toy without worrying about rent.

What are the best features of a NoFrillDo?

NoFrillDos don't come with features. Features are expensive. Instead, they come with these:

• Every NoFrillDo has a shape causing them to occupy a set amount of space. This means they can be put in a hole, and the flared base means your doctor doesn't have to know.
• A NoFrillDo is guaranteed not to come with any guarantees. NoFrillDo promises nothing.
• NoFrillDos come in colors, making them visible to the human eye. Several of those colors are not pink.
• NoFrillDos can be cleaned with soap and water. No need for "toy cleaners". Just soap.
• NoFrillDos are cheap, so you can spend the money you saved on a nice, water-based lube of your choice.
• A NoFrillDo does not look like a penis. NoFrillDos don't look like much at all, really.
• NoFrillDos don't come with instructions. NoFrillDo trusts your ingenuity. Also, printing things is expensive.

NoFrillDo comes in 3 shapes and 4 colors:

Shapes:

• R: Helical design, fun for rotation and penetration. 6.75" insertable length, 1.25" thick.
• G: A g-spot/p-spot toy. 6.6" insertable length, 1.25" thick.
• B: A slightly shorter and thicker model with two stimulating bumps on one side. 6.5" insertable length, 1.36" thick.

Colors:

• C: Cyan.
• M: Magenta.
• Y: Yellow.
• K: blacK.

Firmness: Shore 20A, similar to medium steak. If you just touch your thumb to your middle finger and squeeze the muscle with your other hand, it's about like that. Firm enough to hit the spots, but still squeezable.

The Impact

Having a low-cost silicone option would mean sex toy stores and their patrons would feel less pressure to buy a cheap, unsafe jelly-rubber toy instead of a safe silicone one. This is A Good Thing.

Risks & Challenges

The worst thing that can happen after all the math and prototyping I've done is too many orders, so I've kept a short campaign window and can print a new mold every 15 hours. All the work and prototyping is done. I can make more than 90 of these in a day by myself. However, if order volume is unusually high, I'll be reaching out to the sex educators in my community, to get their help and put money in their pockets.

I've also set the delivery dates on all the perks GENEROUSLY far in the future. I have no expectation that it'll take until February to ship these out. The silicone ships in about 2 business days, and I'll be ordering it before the funding period ends.
