Our Mission

The mission of Entrepreneurship Educational Services (EES), Inc. and its partners is:

To provide animated, highly interactive, online entrepreneurship curricula anytime, anywhere.

Teaching financial literacy is the essence of our internet instructional resources and ongoing services for secondary education, home schooled, and encore entrepreneurs.

The Problem

Aspiring entrepreneurs, regardless of their stage in life, face many challenges.

·  Most graduating seniors enter the workforce financially illiterate

·  80% of educators admit to lacking the skills necessary to teach financial literacy courses

·  Homeschool parents struggle to find quality curriculum for their students

·  Encore entrepreneurs are in need of an affordable, yet flexible curriculum to fit their lifestyle needs

The ERO™ Solution

Entrepreneurship Educational Services (EES), Inc. has accepted the challenge to provide a web-based curriculum to address these needs.

The Entrepreneurial Recipe Online (ERO) ™ is a revolutionary new online learning program designed to inspire and educate students in the fundamentals of mastering financial literacy from an entrepreneurial mindset. The instructional process acts to engage students in entrepreneurial role playing; however, EES, Inc. recognizes that our audience must, as a prerequisite, master the essential personal financial literacy skills before taking on any risk-taking endeavor.

Immersing students in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset and the unlimited opportunities it can provide, students who complete this course will be able to:

-  Master financial literacy skills as a prerequisite to any risk-taking endeavor

-  Establish goal-setting and time management skills and identify resources and determine the steps required to accomplish their goals

-  Develop critical thinking skills enabling them to identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities

-  Understand the process that enables entrepreneurs to transform a simple idea into a sustainable success

-  Establish goals, identify resources and determine the steps required to accomplish their goals

-  Identify and job shadow local entrepreneurs and business owners within their own communities

-  Understand and apply fundamental aspects of entrepreneurial thinking across disciplines and as a means of personal empowerment

The ERO™: Starting Where We Are

www.FinancialLiteracy.biz

Currently, this two-semester capstone entrepreneurship course is being transformed on the Financial Literacy webpage. Eighteen modules have been drafted, which include reading assignments, case studies, vocabulary lists, comprehensive web resources, and homework assignments. However, Module 1: Start Where You Are is the only module available in a textbook, workbook and instructor’s manual format.

Napkin drawings, a concept borrowed from Dan Roam, author of The Back of the Napkin, are used to effectively communicate more complex entrepreneurship and accounting principles to our audiences.

Our Goals for the Future

EES, Inc. has lofty goals for future expansion. The goal is to complete core Modules 0-5 for fall 2015 and post them online in a marketable format for students, educators, homeschooled patrons and encore entrepreneurs.

Another market niche being researched is the Hispanic small business owners. Our research tells us that there are more than three million Hispanic business owners in the U.S. We would welcome the opportunity to add this market to our student population.

Beyond this time frame, our goals include more beta-testing, joint venture partnerships, and completion of the remaining twelve modules, currently in a rough draft.

The ERO™ Portal

The website will include access to a vibrant online entrepreneurial learning community that enables participants and facilitators to share their knowledge and experience with other entrepreneurs and educators within their own communities, as well as others across the country and around the world.

The ERO™ Modules

The modular format can be easily modified to meet a variety of delivery schedules from an intensive boot camp style program to a two-semester capstone course; and can be delivered in a traditional, blended, or virtual classroom.

Traditional classroom

Traditional classroom delivery provides facilitator access to the online course materials. Each student receives a hard copy of the textbook and student workbook which includes multiple choice test questions, discussion topics, individual and group assignments.

The traditional classroom delivery is divided into daily lesson plans designed to stimulate interactive classroom discussions. The individual student workbook enables the student to access the test items, discussion topics, personal reflections and problem-based learning assignments.

Blended classroom

The blended classroom delivery enables students, as well as the facilitator, the same access as the traditional classroom, in addition to a unique passcode that enables the student to access the online course materials.

Blended classroom participants can interact with online tests, discussion topics, personal reflections and problem-based learning assignments online or via the student workbook.

Facilitated online

Facilitated online delivery offers both flexibility and convenience with the potential to engage students globally. Offering facilitated online delivery, both student and facilitator gain access to online course materials along with a copy of the text materials. Students can view the materials anytime, anywhere to complete the lessons on their own time, and at their own pace. The facilitator can use the online learning community to host group discussions and peer-to-peer learning.

Why Financial Literacy?

EES, Inc. defines financial literacy as the ability to understand how money works in the world: how someone manages to earn or make it, how that person manages it, how s/he invests it (turn it into more) and how that person donates it to help others. More specifically, it refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources.

Campaign Budget

In order for The ERO™ to become a reality we are seeking funding in the amount of $73,800 to provide the five core modules in our online portal. To accomplish this we still need to secure the proper technology and complete the editing and uploading of the remaining modules. Once this is in place, we plan on being classroom-ready by August 1, 2015. Your help in making this reality is greatly appreciated.
