Obsidian Javelin
Hello to one and all,
My name is Steve Wheeler. I am a knifesmith/swordsmith and author based in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. My latest claim to fame is as the Props Weapon Maker for the Hobbit movies which I worked on for two years.
I need your help to pay a few bills and feed my family while I finish off the third book by the end of August this year.
The first book in the 'A Fury of Aces' trilogy published by Harper Collins is called 'Burnt Ice'. It came out in April of last year, sold well in Australasia and is now available worldwide as an E book and next month (July) will be in bookstores throughout North America and Europe.
The second: 'Crystal Venom' will be released around the globe on September 1st this year.
The third in the trilogy : 'Obsidian Javelin' will be out in September 2014.

www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/culture/6692981/N...I am inviting you, the reader, to become involved with a tiered system created for real people to buy themselves into the Fury universe as named and developed characters in this third book which at the time of writing this has passed the 65 thousand word mark of the 115000 required.
The story involves a Gjomvik vertical airship (The Haast) which has 110 crew onboard and plays a major part in the storyline. As a flying battlefield aircraft carrier it supports both aerial fights and ground support so there are 35 aircraft of six main types on board being : Hawk,Chrysops, Maul, Heron, Salvage and Aurora. All of which have either been designed or built.

https://www.facebook.com/steve.wheeler.18007For those that want a place I have created a questionnaire that would flesh out each named character including how he or she looks and acts in the storyline on board Haast. This gives all involved the chance to create their own heroic self. All the badies will be totally fictional so rest assured everyone who buys in comes out looking good.
The character entry prices go from $250 to $1500. The higher the payment the more action your character gets involved in. (Note:as of the 4th July the $1500 character perk is no longer avaialable as I am now in the last third of the story and all the main characters are in place.)
For everyone, no matter what their contribution, I shall make five special one off kitchen knives to the value of $350 each. All the names of those who have contributed will go into a hat and I shall draw out five names then engrave those individual names onto the blades and send them. You will also be kept up to date with all current and future developments. And of course there will be T shirts!
Considering the tight timelines I have before the second book launch I need help with money to pay the bills for the next two months while I complete 'Obsidian Javelin'. Fairly simple eh! And in these tough times even the smallest contribution will be greatly appreciated by me and my family.
I am also working with three terrific concept artists: Anneke Bester from Christchurch NZ, Al Brady from Cambridge in England and Robb Merrill from Colorado in the USA. Also I am building the actual models in the stories so as an author I can easily visualise what is happening. On my Facebook page there are many of the WIPs and images of what we have achieved to date.
If you are unable to contribute in a dollars sense now please spread the word as the stories are all about hope. My hope for us as members of humanity and our place in the Universe. My characters love and care for each other no matter what happens.
